Halloween Evenings at Beamish | 27th, 28th & 31st October
Beamish is one of our favourite attractions in the North East. This spectacular open air museum delves into the history of North East of England throughout the early 1900s. A fantastic place to visit for children and adults alike, Beamish has plenty to discover including a traditional fairground and a tramway.
This year there will be spooktacular Halloween evenings where the museum is transformed into the Un-Living Museum of the North. Tickets aren’t for sale just yet but they should be available soon here. Whether you’re visiting for Halloween specifically or just looking for a fun-filled day out, we’d certainly recommend Beamish!

If you’re wanting to burn off their energy, kids will love exploring the 18,000 square feet of indoor play in the indoor play town. The fun doesn’t end there though! There are goats which can be hand fed as well llamas, sheep, rabbits, guinea pigs and more to see!

The North Pennines Stargazing Festival returns this year in celebration of the incredible dark skies in The North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB) and UNESCO Global Geopark. The festival has plenty of events throughout the October half term holidays spread across the North Pennines, Durham Dales and beyond. A truly magical place, it’s perfect for young astronomers.
Children will love the Storytelling and Stars at Hannah’s Meadow event which involves a laser-guided tour of the night skies with local astronomer Neill Sanders.
