Expensive for what it is and far from luxury. Booked for our 20th anniversary, arrived 7pm to find the entrance hall had a rancid smell, probably the drains. Got to our apartment and it had no heating (November booking), not great when my wife has reynards. Host and stay were useless despite lots of calls so it was a cold night for us. Finally got it sorted the next day but I had to chase them again. Location is excellent but the wall between the bedroom and the property to the rear is too thin so you can hear the neighbours at bedtime and and in the morning, and I mean loudly enough to keep you awake. Wifi router and wires strewn accros the floor on the landing makes it feel like a student bedsit. I go away a lot in the uk but I'll avoid a host and stay next time i book.

+ Great central location.
+ Small but well fitted out with amenities.
- The bedroom wall is paper thin and normal speaking level conversations from the neighbouring flat can be heard.
- After booking you have to pay, in case of damage, either a non-refundable fee (£25?) or a £250 deposit (refundable, minus £10 admin fee) which is refunded two weeks after check out.

location is in the heart of Alnwick. nice compact apartment for four people. clean and nice cotton bedding. really hot shower. And nice and warm as the temperature was cold when we were there.

because of the location the traffic noise is noticeable particularly on a morning. no cleaning products at all thought there may have been one spray??

Great location and nice apartment

Very noisy, no sound proofing between upstairs apartment old floorboards so very creaky and loud if upstairs were moving around. Also the charge for potential damage.

Pretty little apartment in a great location in the centre of Alnwick, with a view of the castle. Bright, clean and tidy with a well equipped kitchen. Two free carparks within 5 minutes walk and up to 2 hours parking in car park at front of the property - very useful.
Alnwick is picturesque town with lots of pubs, cafes and restaurants and a great location for exploring Northumberland.
Pets welcome too.
Enjoyed staying at the apartment and our visit to Northumberland.

A small apartment in the heart of Alnwick. Please be aware that there is a deposit required and additional admin fee taken on an alternative site to Airbnb after booking. It also feels like a call centre, so although they are responsive, there is a delay and we were unable to locate an item we left there by mistake.

V small flat with a tiny bedroom. A good location, clean and furnished ok.
Bad smell in the communal hallway, one of the windows was badly rotten with rubbish, cigarette buts visible through the windows.
Non existent soundproofing between the bedroom with the apartment at the rear, the noise from next door kept us awake at night beyond midnight and woke us up early in the morning.
2 or 3 of the Lightbulbs in living room wall lights flickered, batteries to remote control didn’t work. The kitchen worktop was damaged.
Had to pay a deposit of £250. I think this should have been more clearly displayed in the booking fee.

Location central
Clean
Nice apartment
Nice shower

Very small especially the bathroom sink not fit for purpose. Very hot at night in bedroom. 30 stairs to climb not ideal if you have mobility issues.
Dry dog food smell in lobby.
No parking permit in room.
No repair for faulty flickering light in kitchen and remote control for tv didn’t work, sent email as soon as we arrived nobody replied. Just generic email basically saying it was in review for urgency of repair ???.
Expensive compulsory insurance, and cleaning fee.

Good location

Pretty sparse. The need to pay for additional insurance is pretty irritating

Recently refurbished and well-equipped.

Bedroom is an airless box. Must be absolutely terrible if outside temperature rises above 20c. Whole apartment has one window that can only be opened a crack. Bad conversion job. My wife wanted to leave after the first night.
I also dislike hidden charges, with a £10 ‘administration fee’ for taking a security deposit. Just include it in the headline price.

Location was good, parking not a problem. Comfortable and well equipped.

Bad smell in the hallway from the pet shop next door and low ceiling on first floor stairs, hit my head a few times, no warning sign.

Small but nicely decorated central flat. Ceylon is in the attic.

The living room window rattled in the wind, we used the no smoking sign to stop it. It was very draughty from it though. The bedroom is small so my husband was against the wall. Unfortunately there is no adequate sound proofing between the flats next door and I could hear the owner talking to one in the morning. I got earplugs for the next night.

Lisa

Clean comfortable. Keypad security.

Outlook from rear of property and bedrooms. Entrance stairs and bedrooms look out onto filthy dark passageway sitting below other flat balconies where noise from conversations excessive, constant and very early in morning. Opening windows for air makes this noise impossible to tolerate early morning. Wasn't anything other than people living their lives in these buildings. No anti social behaviour for the nights we stayed even though accommodation is centrally situated.

Location was good

Arrived after an 8 hour cycle in pouring rain to have to pay a security deposit on top of the £300 rate for 2 nights before we could get the keys. The bathroom stunk of raw sewage. We washed our clothes but couldn’t dry them as the owner had turned the heating off!! Not a good experience.

We had a wonderful stay in Alnwick. The apartment is perfectly situated in the middle of the town and has a wonderful view over to Alnwick Castle. You're within a stone's throw of lovely cafe's, restaurants & bars. We loved our meal at The Dirty Bottles and had lovely coffee and cake at The Origami Cafe whilst chatting with the lovely owner. Can't recommend both places enough. The apartment itself was very clean and decorated to a high standard. The kitchen has all the cooking utensils & dishes that you'd need to cook a meal if you choose to stay in! The only thing we'd mention was we could sometimes hear people in the building next door chatting in the morning which would wake us up. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay!

Good overall, great location, clean and tidy and a free council car park a 5min walk away.
The living room is comfortable and bright and the kitchen well-equipped with a big sash window offering a nice view over Market Street and Alnwick castle further in the distance. The bedroom was nice, however the only window is a skylight which is too high to open, so it did get a bit stuffy overnight.
Do note, to stay here you must either pay a non-refundable damage waiver of £25 or leave a deposit of £250, of which only £240 is returned to you via a service outside AirBNB.
