We loved the garden and little stour river at the back. It is well fenced off if you visit with little children. The pub next door is great. And Wickhambreaux has a couple of nice walks starting in the village. The dishwasher wasn’t the best. But they are going to take a look at that.

This house is amazing, it really is. We stayed over a long bank holiday and had family meals inside the lovely kitchen and in the garden everyday. The cupboards were stocked with great kitchen utensils and everything you need to make great food. There is so much in this house, it's such a brilliant place and the location is terrific. This is the best holiday home I have ever stayed in, it had a little library and a lovely fireplace, ridiculously good, thanks so much for letting us stay in your house and read about its history. nothing at all, this place is brilliant.

A really lovely place in a wonderful location. The property itself is cosy, full of period features and you really feel like you’re staying in a piece of the village‘a history. We will be back!

Incredible historic building full of personality. Very comfortable with everything provided we could need. So much space, the garden was amazing too and went down to a little stream.

House looks like it's on a loop. Trippy architecture ?

Lovely old cottage with a garden in pretty village. Because it is so old one must expect creaky floorboards and worn surfaces. I was surprised to be asked to pay an extra amount for insurance after booking. I also felt the rental agents sent too many messages, especially reminding me of the early check out time of 10. But it is a sweet cottage with lots of history.

Beautiful village and a lovely cottage. The garden was picturesque with a stream at the bottom of it. Bedding and towels clean no issues but a few cobwebs, to be expected with this style of house. Wonderful little pub across the road.

Good location, well equipped property, very nice and well maintained garden, good pub in front of the house (no noise, not disturbing) the host, "Host & Stay" was sending several very threatening emails: 1. "you need to have a damage insurance in place before you receive the check-in details", 2. "for any damage that remains unreported during your stay, you will be responsible for covering the full cost of damage" (despite I had paid for their damage insurance proposal!), 3. "Any late departures are subject to additional charges as per our terms and conditions". The aggressive, threatening character of these email messages was inappropriate.

Such a beautiful house. We stayed here for a writing retreat and it was the perfect place for it! The architecture, the garden, and the atmosphere is fabulous. However, there was not enough toilet paper left in the house, no extra blankets, and no extra bin bags! Was surprised by this, and when I messaged the host I sadly didn’t receive a reply. Just a heads up - might be worthwhile bringing your own!

Charming historic cottage in an idyllic Kentish village. House has all the character you might want and was comfortable for our family of four. Just be sure to check out the floor plan and be prepared for tight staircases and squeaky floorboards.

10/10! House is very comfortable, cosy and plenty of space for a group of couples. The garden at the back is beautiful and leads to a calm tranquil stream. Everything was clean and well presented, and we were all bowled over with how pretty the property is! The Rose Inn just a few steps away was also very welcoming to us having a few drinks in the evening. Cannot recommend this property highly enough, Wickhambreaux is beautiful! Nothing to dislike.

Beautiful house in a picturesque village. Very peaceful and far enough from the big towns and cities that you could enjoy the peace and quiet of the countryside, but also very easy to get to Canterbury and other local bigger attractations for all the necessities and family fun days out. Would definitely recommend.

Adorable maison, très cosy et charmante ! Bonne literie, la cuisine est très conviviale, le salon aussi ! Le pub en face est très sympa pour boire une bonne bière et on peut aussi y manger.

A beautiful and characteristic 16th-century house on the green of a picturesque little village. A large private garden with the Little Stour river at the back. Plenty of space for 8. Well equipped, also for families. Quiet. Easy free street parking. 15 mins from Canterbury. Pub across the street - they can serve food at the cottage, will pick up the dishes afterwards. If it wasn't for the heating problems (in winter) this would have been a magnificent, all-positive experience. The heating and hot water supply was broken. We arrived in an ice-cold house (2°C). Couldn't reach the agency. Finally we could contact the owners, who instructed us to top up the water pressure. Even with the system active and the fireplace going the living room did not get above 16°C when outside temperatures were close to freezing. Had to top up the water pressure every day otherwise we would have people under a cold shower, and no heating. The agency came but couldn't do anything. They said they would send an expert but nobody came to fix it.

Waanzinnige tuin. Een parel in Kent.

We had a great stay at the Bell House! The house has a bit of a funny layout with 2 main bedrooms upstairs and 2 bathrooms downstairs, but it worked really well for us (2 couples with 2 babies). The rooms are very spacious and beds are really comfy. We were lucky enough to have some warm days in October and enjoy the beautiful garden. The pub next door is simple but nice and run by very lovely people. And there’s so many good places to eat in the area. But no need to go out cause the kitchen has everything you need to cook up a nice dinner. Gibson’s farm shop is close by and has some great local produce (and logs for the woodburner)

We loved The Bell House! Don’t go if you are looking for pristine five-star luxury - but absolutely do go if you are looking for an incredibly atmospheric, historic place to stay! The listing doesn’t do justice to how quirky and ancient the place feels. It’s comfortable too though, with modern bathrooms and clean, comfy beds. The garden is idyllic. Wickhambreaux is a beautiful village and we were very impressed with how lively and friendly the Rose Inn across the road was. There is good walking in the vicinity and further afield there is loads to do - we were blessed with good weather so made the most of the seaside towns of Kent- all within about 30 mins drive.

Location was perfect for us - we have stayed here before. The garden is lovely which we would have loved to enjoy if the weather had been better. Very creaky floorboards, to be expected in such an old house. The rental company sent an email with a link, asking for bank details and then the further link did not give access information. My bank thought this was a scam and stopped my card. I had to call a mobile number to get the code for the key safe. It would have been better to have just sent this information in an email, instead of asking me to click on a link, which didn't work.
