Apartment 3, York Terrace

The location was good for the hospital which is what we needed. Everything we needed in the kitchen for self catering. Communication from the management team was good. Check in was easy. The heating went off at 10.30. it was chilly as a draught blew through the old windows. and not enough curtain covering to keep it warm. Just old office type vertical blinds. Which were not very good from a privacy point of view. No lamps in the living room so we sat under LED lights. And why not put wall lamps in the bedroom?..we had to climb over the bed to turn off the lights. The bathroom has a tiny cloakroom sink. Husband had to shave and wash in the kitchen. The apartment also needs a refurb. Paint work is dirty in places. The floor also needed a good sweep and clean. There is no parking in apartment 3 which was not made clear when we booked but I believe this has now been rectified after bringing it to the attention of the management team.

Location and helpfulness of staff. The photos of the property were misleading. The light and airy property shown was not what I got. It was tiny, dark and unfit for purpose. I felt unsafe as the apartment was on the ground floor, backing onto a carpark. The bedroom was even lower still, with painted over, single glaze window frames. The kitchen/seating area had very small, uncomfortable seating. I was expecting the pictured accommodation but was severely disappointed in what I was met with. The building that the apartment was in was not obvious at all. The directions were incorrect. When questioning staff, they were unable to help. The third member of staff did acknowledge the directions were wrong and helped. The building was shabby and smelt of damp. I did not stay & made alternative hotel arrangements. I did not receive a refund. I was told that because the apartment was clean, that a refund was not an option. Overall a very stressful experience.

Fabulous location opposite the bus stops to the city and LEA. Comfortable, spacious, warm with easy to adjust heating. Wonderful shower. Entry by key code was easy and practical. Sachets of tea, coffee and hot chocolate would have been great. We travelled by train so didn’t have room for drinks. Also, please make it clear which flats have parking.

Não deixaram eu chegar antes do horário nem pra deixar mala, super entendi. Falaram que era por causa da limpeza. Okay. Mas quando eu chego no apartamento, era bem nítido que ele não estava limpo, o mau cheiro forte e o cheiro forte de mofo. O lixo estava na cozinha podre, a cama tinha vários cabelos e a cocha de cama suja!!!! E embaixo da cama muito mais sujo ainda, filmei tudo mandei para eles, demoraram horas pra me responder ! E perguntaram se eu queria que alguém fosse limpar ! Oi ? Como assim ??? Se não deixaram eu entrar antes por que estava sendo feito a limpeza , eu não iria sair para que fosse feita outra limpeza ! Isso era pra ter sido feito antes da minha chegada, fiquei bem decepcionada. Coloquei tudo para lavar ! Achei bem decepcionante em questão de limpeza ! Porém a localização é boa, apartamento é bem pequeno , o sofá velho, manjado , com cheiro forte ! O frigobar sem as peças , quebrado. Pelo valor que eu aluguei, achei que fosse melhor !!!

Good location and pretty quiet The parking area

Flat was clean, tidy and generally very comfortable. There was a large fan in the main bedroom which was amazing as it was a very hot weekend. Could have done with one in the twin room as well though. Beds were comfortable. Excellent location, close to the city and easy to get back to the A10 and ring road. Biggest plus was the parking spot as there isn't much space to park on the surrounding roads so having an allocated space made life much easier. The road it's on is quite noisy, only an issue in the living room as it's in the front. Not an issue for the bedrooms as they are in rear of the property. Also not the best sofa but only an issue if you are spending a lot of time in the actual flat.

Keys please! - needs deep cleaning (vacuum carpets, cobwebs on ceiling, dusty resistors, dirt marks on walls - torn vinyl flooring was trip hazard - fridge / freezer not convenient for family (too small) - lacking start up essentials (tea, coffee, sugar, etc) - diluted handwashing liquid in bathroom was lowest point - creaky bed in kids room - not really a serviced apartment

clean,well positioned constant concern on parking which appeared on booking to be avialable.at the back. there were what appeared to be 2 spaces for our house which had 6 or so appts. One was permanently used the other was free so we used it luckily without interruption especially as my wife is somewhat disabled. On booking it said on street parking was 10 mins away which is a heck of a distance away plus knowing Norwich I doubt whether spaces would have been available. The situation should be absolutely clear on booking. There was no toilet roll and the shower needs re tightening as it is not firmly fixed to the wall. The tiling on the front steps is in bad repair and loose tiles are becoming dangerously slippy. Finally as we left the Fire Hazard alarm was continually going off. A resident in Apartment 1 was trying to resolve but we also left a message with your office.

The location is good. The staff is very kind. Although it was very clean, the dusty/musty smell was noticeable. I am allergic to dust, so it was kind of uncomfortable my staying in the place. The bedroom blinds does not shut completely, thus some light was filtered.

Location and very clean. Some issues with kitchen equipment (no bread knife, only 1 dessert spoon, shelf in fridge broken etc) generally a little dated, could do with a refresh. Back door lock didn’t work, only worked 1/20 attempts.

I enjoyed my stay at this property. The WiFi connection was super reliable, which was important for me as I needed to work while I was there.

Great base to explore the city and surrounding areas - be aware that you will likely require to park a 10 minute walk away from the apartment given the extremely limited (4 spaces) of free parking in the lane to rear of address. That said the flat itself is as described.

Property was clean and comfy. Nothing.

Good value, well-positioned apartment. We have previously stayed in a larger one upstairs but only needed a small one this time. The apartments have been refurbished to a generally high standard but see below. The 25 bus stop is just across the road. The whole building really needs new windows. The existing ones are the originals, single-glazed, frames not in great condition, and only one opened in our apartment. We were comfortable in mild February weather, but very hot or very cold spells could be uncomfortable. The bedroom in Apartment 3 has very bright ceiling lights with the switch in the living room. It needs a pair of reading lights, possibly just small LEDs on goose-necks. The bed takes up almost the whole room - not a problem for us but one person has to climb across.

Stayed here with my daughter for a weekend . We found apartment as described by host .It is compact comfortable and clean .Have stayed here on a previous to Norwich and would happily stay again .

Warm, clean and functional. Excellent value. Parking arrangements or lack there of could have been cleared in the ad. I think SOME of the apartments have an allocated space. Mine didn't, although I was able to park in the "alley" for all but one of the nights.

The beds were lovely and it was so good to be able to have a warm bath in the evening. The flat was very clean and very well organised and it was great to have a carpark at the rear of the property. As I had lived on York Street for more than 22 years, the location was also absolutely perfect too. The bus stop being just opposite was so handy as were all the pubs, take-aways and Tesco express. A big thank you! It was a shame that the windows were a bit old and so, not very ecofriendly.

The property was clean and the bed was very comfortable. Just a shame regarding parking The advert said parking, we read the reviews and it stated that parking available. On payment we received a email to say parking availability was at a nearby road 10 minutes away. Their was no parking as the roads all had parking zones or 30 minute parking and no return. Contacted the number provided and was told once again parking was available but you had to look for it. The particular apartment we picked did not have allocated parking The property was very clean. However, the kettle or cooker didn't work, so difficult to make a hot drink.

Good location. Warm and nice apartment. The apartment was on the top floor and there was no lift in the building, it made my family very inconvenient as I was travelling with elderly. It would be helpful to my stay if the host could tell which floor of the apartment is located during the booking process.

We had a guest arriving for a family event and wanted her to stay near our house. This was the best flat available near us. Our guest was elderly. Nowhere in the booking did it state that the flat would be on the ground floor. This made our guest feel a bit unsafe as people can look in to the flat's kitchen. Furthermore, there is a staircase leading to the bedroom which is quite steep. Quite tasking for an elderly guest. Another point was the building entrance, you have to enter a code to enter but there's no light. We found ourselves fiddling with the phone lights etc. Not nice, especially when it's raining.

Very clean and when I emailed with problems they dealt with very quickly I couldn't find the clotheshorse or hairdryer in the designated storage. 3 days in I found th clotheshorse under the bed but never found the hairdryer I would suggest that an inventory be taken of the basics be taken of the room confirming the equipment is where it should be.

It was our second time staying in these apartments, this one was bigger than our last one, which we preferred. It's a very nice flat in a great location. No fans are provided, so the flat was sweltering in the heat. Furthermore, the hist was not communicative in the slightest. I messaged them on our first night asking where the switch for the oven is located as none of the ones we could see/find worked. They never got back to me. They also never told us that builders/workers would be starting on the windows of the bedroom on the morning of our checkout. We got woken up by loud scraping outside the bedroom, of which the windows were wide open due to the heat. It's a shame, as we might not book here again.

Nice and easy stay. Great location in a cosy little flat :) The bedroom was a tight fit as it could only fit the double bed in.

Easy and simple check in. Spacious living area. Entrance to the building at the rear is not desirable, it smelt very bad throughout the building and the communal corridors were dark and dingy. Not enough cups/mugs for 4 people staying. Bathroom could have been a little cleaner for the price.

Good location for transport. Cleanliness. Bed sheets and pillowcases had stain and hair on them. Shower was dirty. Poor maintenance and quality all over. Cooking utensils and pans very used up and dirty. Oven tray rusty. On the main road so noisy... Even at night

The location was great within walking distance of city centre and booked because of that and the parking. The apartment is much needing tlc and decorating and could have been cleaner. The crockery needs renewed as chipped and that and the cutlery should be checked for cleanliness prior to guest arrival. The bath and tiles require attention and resealing.

Nice location, spacious place Internet was too slow, no WiFi signal in bedrooms.

The property was in a good location and reasonably priced! The hob in the kitchen didn’t work very well, it took an hour to cook bacon. the extra fan needs replacing or cleaning as the kitchen stank of cooking oil.

Location, facilities. We booked for 4 adults. 4 beds made up but only 2 sets of towels, 2 mugs and 3 cereal bowls. Phoned management company next morning - spoke to a very helpful lady. Towels, mugs and bowls were delivered within 2 hours. Excellent service but shouldn't have had to ask.

We had a great time in Norwich! The property is in a delightful commercial district near the city centre, and not far from the UEA. We lived in comfort and Norfolk Holiday Properties took care of all our needs. Lovely!

great location the hideous smell in the hall/stairway which greeted us every time we arrived at or left the building - damp mixed with unemptied bins. apartment 7 very unloved and nothing like the photos online.

Excellent location. Great apartment. Nice bedrooms, comfortable bed. Clean linen. Roomy living area. Great having shops and pubs so close. A comfortable walk into the city. The toilet wasn't as clean as it could have been. The bathroom basin had a blocked drain and we had to buy a drain clearing product to fix it. There were chippies and other food scraps under the sofa cushions. When I got the brush and shovel out of the kitchen cupboard to sweep up crumbs, the brush was so dirty and covered in hair it made me heave. I left the brush and shovel out when we left and suggested it be thrown away and replaced.

The flat was in the location we like and was quiet as we were at the back of the building. It was very clean with loo paper & washing up stuff provided and marvelously a nice long shower mat ?. We did have a minor problem which was sorted out very quickly be email - stellar service. We would definitely book again if it is available Had a bit of difficulty with the cooker as it was electric & we are used to gas so an instruction manual would have been handy. 5he blinds were awkward to handle but a couple of emails sorted it quick smart.

Clean bedding and towels (but only what would have expected) Appreciated the room fan. Heart sank on arrival, the entrances were unkempt and unwelcoming. The carpets were dirty and stained. The paintwork, walls and woodwork, were cracked, flaking, scuffed and dirty; the whole place needs a repaint. The blinds were dirty and greasy. Curtain poles hanging off the walls and curtains thin and dirty. Bathroom tiles mouldy. Twin room no bedside table or lamp as shown in the photo. Sitting room furniture battered and stained. The kitchen was tiny with basic equipment. No welcome pack. The oven was dirty & none of the 4 hobs could rise to the challenge of cooking pasta with kettle boiled water. Cups in cupboard were dirty.

the location Black mould in the shower, freezer was disgusting,toilet wasn’t cleaned, cupboard doors hanging off,bed falling apart floor sticky and not cleaned,fridge didn’t work our milk went sour,the whole apartment is dated and unclean. would not recommend staying here.

Property was in a good location. This property was tiny , the pictures make it look spacious it certainly is not that !! All areas of this property are tired , mould in the bathroom, dirty kitchen . Dusty dirty skirting boards bubbled vinyl flooring not reaching the skirting boards . The sofa was so marked and stained we didn’t even sit on it !!!!

Layout of apartment was great Plenty of hot water ?? Great location to city centre, and easy access to bus routes. Double bed was very comfy, room spacious. Heating very easy to control Definitely a bonus having a parking space at the back (bay number needs making clearer thou) Overall ideal for a city weekend visit with friends The stairs!! ? The handwritten hob dial numbers/letters were really hard to read, making it very difficult to use. The grill thermostat didn't appear to be working; the light was on in the oven but the element didn't heat up. Single beds were a little uncomfortable and the duvets too small.

Great place to stay for a short stay. I felt relaxed during my visit, and I loved how responsive Molly was as a host. By the way love the idea of providing a cleaning kit (cloth, dishwasher tablets, sponges etc.). It made the apartment feel more homely.

Lovely flat in an excellent location - ideal with plenty of really good local amenities and just a short stroll to Norwich city centre highlights. Parking for car was invaluable. Beds, furnishings and facilities perfectly fine Only minor downside was a couple of bedside lights not working

Cozy little place in the middle of the city. Located on the vibrant Unthank road with easy availability of groceries at walking distance. Great bus connectivity to the city centre and to UEA. Absolutely marvelous place with an extremely courteous host! 5 stars all the way!

Perfect spot for a solo visit back to see my family for a few days. The apartment is well equipped (hairdryer, washing machine, great water pressure in the shower) and only a short walk into the heart of the city. I parked up on Christchurch Rd, as advised due to permit passes closer to the flat itself, but there were always spaces and only 10 mins back to the apartment. Also, sampled Dozen bakery just around the corner and the Georgian Townhouse just by the Cathedral which are well worth a visit too!

Simple small place with just enough space for 2 people. Not fancy but a good base for heading in or out of the city. Great location on Unthank Road near lovely pubs and cafe. Owners communication was good and access instructions clear easy to follow. Perfect for a no frills place to sleep stay.

The flat was a great place to stay over several weeks when our house was being renovated. Norfolk Holiday Properties were so helpful, with quick replies and very flexible when we had to change our dates on several occasions. The flat is in a great location, central to Norwich and also with shops and several nice pubs a stones throw away. I would recommend for anyone spending time in Norwich. It can be a little noisy being on a main road but the local amenities make up for this.

Nice, clean and cosy apartment. Had everything we needed to stay a week. The location was ideal especially if you need to go to the city centre or to the university.

The apartment is modern and comfortable, attractively decorated and well equipped. The location is good - ideal for walking into the city, with a good range of shops nearby - but the road is a little noisy so bring some earplugs if you're a light sleeper.

Excellent accomodation! My husband and I stayed at Sascha's studio flat in Norwich for one week. Very nice apartment and great location. It was very clean and comfortable. Sascha was easy to communicate with and always available. Easy and quick answer to my doubts from before making the reservation. I would highly recommend this studio! :)

Clean and easily accessible property, lots of suggestions from host as to where we could park. Location is great for city centre, well equipped kitchen for cooking. Just missing the final touches of some tea and coffee other than that a great stay.

Our stay at this flat was overall lovely! As others have mentioned, the road noise is quite noticeable as though the windows are open when they are not. However, it's not the most noisy place around and I personally like road noise anyway so this was not detrimental to our stay. We were also there during an exceptionally hot time and it was rather difficult to keep the place cool without bringing in fans of our own. This is not something the property owners can control at all and wouldn't affect my likelihood to book again next time I'm in Norwich.

A great little place with a full kitchen in a perfect location for Norwich. The lovely Eaton park and Norwich town centre were easy to get to. Payment and communications were handled efficiently by the host - Sacha.

The apartment is very thoughtfully equipped and designed. We did not want for anything while we were there. I would recommend staying here. It’s small but perfect!

The flat is a studio, so it is small yet cozy. Clean, bright and stylish. Great location as its right on Unthank Road with lots of places to grab food and a drink and just 10 min walk to city centre. Can get a bit noisy as it’s on a busy road and bus stop is right across the street but you get used to it and isn’t a problem. Great place and would definitely stay again and recommend.

Great location - 2 seconds from unthank kitchen and right by the bus stop for city center and University. Keypad access was a huge plus - easy checking in and out! Bed was really comfy and apartment warm. Host easy to reach via message. Recommended!

Decent place to stay for a few nights, better than similar priced hotels but a bit noisy from the road at times - but still a good stay all in all.

Only ten minutes by local bus to the center of town and fifteen minutes to the train station. Very easy to find and simple entry to both doors. Everything you need for cooking, showering and bedding is there. I enjoyed my stay at Sascha's apartment and would certainly return when back in Norwich. Mike

My husband and I stayed at Sascha's studio flat in Norwich for a month! We were so pleased with the space, it was very clean and comfortable. We had all the necessary kitchen items available and were able to cook what we pleased the entire month. The location is fantastic, a simple 15 minute walk to the city centre and the bus route just out front. It worked great for us. As Sascha mentions in the listing, it is on a popular road, so you can hear some of the street at night, but this didn't bother us. Sascha was easy to communicate with and always available. We felt comfortable and content with our whole month stay. I would highly recommend this studio!

Excellent accomodation. Well presented and spacious. Very comfy bed and fluffy cushions - proper luxury. Very close to town and lota of great restaurants, bars and cafes nearby. Unthank Cafe was a great spot for brunch.
