Beautiful stay, house was even better than expected. Very roomy, would recommend.

Comfy beds, spacious, warm, quiet and secluded. Decent sized mugs.<br/><br/>Some missing kitchen equipment, oven dishes, potato peeler etc, more relevant in a location with no nearby eateries where home cooking is more than likely.

Beautiful house but let down on a lot of factors. Hot tub was unusable for the 1st night as was cold. Took overnight to heat up<br/>WiFi in the sitting room was none existent so made the room unusable as the tv wouldn’t work. <br/>Hot hot hot inside. Heating was set to 25’ and was stifling and we struggled to turn it down. <br/>Dirty pans in cupboard from previous occupants and some of the pans wouldn’t work on the induction hob. <br/>Also no practical cooking dishes and oven needed a good clean. It was filthy. <br/>Showers had black mould and empty shampoo/ shower gel bottles<br/>Coffee pods advertised but we only had 2 milk pods. No coffee pods<br/>Only 4 towels for hot tub but 5 occupants <br/>No condiments or any type of welcome pack.<br/>Also was charged £30 accidental damage waiver on booking ( or asked to pay a £250 accidental deposit but £10 kept afterwards if no damage, as admin fee) which wasn’t mentioned until the place was booked.<br/>A little attention to small details would make a huge difference

The house itself is beautiful with stunning views. Good base to get about. Very well equipped. Couldn't get the hot tub up to temperature but messaged the host and he popped round and sorted it no problem.<br/><br/>Some areas were very dusty on arrival and I had to clean work surface area and breakfast table. Lots of cobwebs. Hot tub had some dirt particles in the base. Because of the wooden floors and staircase, it was very noisy and creaky for anyone downstairs. Not enough low level lighting in the main sitting area.

It’s the best accommodation we’ve visited and we’ve been to quite a few. Firstly John the host made us feel welcome and assured us of any problems to contact him and then was left to enjoy our stay. The location is so peaceful with breathtaking views and feels so private as you’re not overlooked and is around 40 mins to get to Newcastle. The property is huge and beautifully furnished with everything you need in it and most importantly the bed was so comfortable. Just looking to re-book and would highly recommend to anyone wanting a romantic or peaceful break?<br/><br/>Nothing it was perfect ??

Location is wonderful with fantastic views around the property. Plenty of space in the grounds. <br/> For 9 of us we booked both The Parlour and The Gathering. There is a door that connects the two for a large party. It worked perfectly. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms . We all enjoyed our holiday there and would recommend it to others.<br/><br/>Only negatives were: The flys, (being in the countryside) <br/>The water in the Jacuzzi outside the Gathering was not warm enough to use . However this was being addressed by the owners.

Ein tolles, liebevoll eingerichtet Haus. Sehr bequeme Betten und eine tolle Aussicht. Die Besitzer, John und Lin, waren sehr nett und haben uns sogar Eier von ihren eigenen Hühnern geschenkt. Der Hot Tub war vorbereitet und man musste einfach nur noch einsteigen. Hierfür gab es extra Handtücher.<br/><br/>Es fehlte leider eine Kaffemaschine.

We had a lovely stay at this peaceful spot and the views and surroundings were beautiful. We felt at home straight away and loved the cosy sitting room in the evening and made good use of the hot tub. <br/>The beds were very comfortable and the linens clean and fresh. There was some black mould on the shower heads and the edge of the showers which could have been addressed by the cleaners but that was the only thing we felt disappointing. <br/>The owner brought us some lovely fresh eggs and the overall feeling of the place was homely yet luxurious. It was hot whilst we were there and the bedrooms got extremely warm during the day, even with the blackout blinds down, so fans would be a useful addition to the bedrooms in warmer weather. <br/>There were no restaurants, pubs or shops in walking distance but we found some a short drive away. All in all, a lovely break in a beautiful part of the world.

Me and my family stayed in the parlour for a nice relaxing weekend away from it all, we loved it, I had to drag my mother out when it was time to leave lol would definitely stay again n the future.

We loved the hot tub, the open plan kitchen/living room/dinner. The main bedroom was gorgeous<br/><br/>The bi-fold external doors had an issue closing. We'd suggest possibly including bath robes for guests using the outdoor jacuzzi.

This cottage exceeded expectations. The rooms were spacious with lots of communal space to relax in. Everything was clean and comfy and the hot tub was superb. Our hosts were quick to respond to any queries we had and were super friendly. The only downside was the lack of walkable paths from the door, however the road is quiet so it is possible to walk along the road.<br/>Despite this, I would definitely stay again and recommend to others.

The hosts were very helpful and friendly. The house is in a very quiet location but only 20 minutes from Ponteland, It had been beautifully decorated for Christmas, which was an unexpected bonus.

I travel quite a lot for work and I’ve recently been working in Newcastle. <br/>The parlour it’s self is beautiful, the lay out and the scenery. Stunning. <br/>The only issues I had where under all of the beds where thick with dust and for over £100 cleaning fee you’d expect just because things aren’t viable to the eye to be cleaned regardless.<br/>The wifi inside the main living/kitchen area was ok but kept dropping out and if you go into the other living room the wifi wasn’t working at all for us. <br/>It was hit and miss. <br/>This made working from there slightly difficult for me an in the end I had to use my mobile data. We also had a slight issue with privacy. However overall stay was good and would return.

Hot tub, beautiful views, spacious accommodation

My friends and I hired both properties for a girly weekend away. The properties are absolutely stunning, there is an adjoining door that connects both properties making it feel like one huge property. <br/><br/>They are perfect for a larger get together and plenty of space. <br/><br/>The location is remote and very peaceful. Ponteland is only a 20 minute drive away which was perfect for us to visit for Christmas lunch and drinks. Taxis are easier to get from here too.<br/><br/>The owners live on the farm in a nearby property we found this very reassuring and John came over to help us with an enquiry we had and he checked on the hot tubs too. <br/><br/>Hot tubs are a perfect addition. <br/><br/>The properties are large and spacious and very clean. The owners really have thought of everything.<br/><br/>We will definitely be returning.<br/><br/>There isn’t anything I disliked about the property. Maybe instructions on how to use the hot tub would be useful.

Clean, huge, very comfortable furniture, 3 en suites. Warm. Host welcomed us. Quiet. Far reaching view from bedrooms.<br/><br/>Understand there is probably a need for a damage deposit, however, having to pay £10 admin fee for that damage deposit, for less than 48 hours in property was not good. Far too many emails asking me to pay this damage deposit. Another saucepan (a big one) would have been useful - 2 medium pans in accommodation for 6 isn't really enough. However, I didn't ask for another pan and one may well have been provided if I had asked.

All bedrooms double & ensuite & very comfortable..Very spacious. Nice área for days out.<br/>Hot tub.<br/>Plenty of plates, cups etc.<br/>Great for socialising with family or friends.<br/>Very friendly & helpful owners.<br/>A complementry bottle of fizz & milk was a nice touch.<br/><br/>Unfortunately not as clean as I would expect, window sill in bedroom very dirty & cobwebs, surface of the chest of drawers was covered in make up which was easily removed. Wall of bathroom had toothpaste splattered down it. Floors could have been cleaner. <br/>There was no coffee machine, although there was supposed to be one.<br/>A large saucepan would have been useful when cooking for 6 people, & a potato peeler.

celebrated my birthday with the girls, had everything that we needed! Hot tub was heated up before we arrived and a bottle of Prosecco gifted to us! Lovely people, lovely place.

Myself, my husband and 4 children thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. It's in a peaceful, rural location which is exactly what we were looking for. The property came with added extras which was a nice surprise: shampoo, shower gel, tea, coffee, milk etc. The hosts were lovely and always around if needed. Thankyou for a lovely stay!

Three generations stayed here from 9 months to 89 years old, while attending a family wedding. The accomodation was spacious and clean with everything you needed for a great stay. The hosts where very kind and accommodating, would definitely return.

The Parlour was the most perfect place for us. Spacious enough for six adults, incredibly comfortable and the hot tub was a lovely bonus.

beautifully furnished.. spacious n luxurious. clean and the Xmas tree was an additional bonus. like that it’s tucked away in peace and quiet but only 15 drive if want to get some action. landlord stayed behind us and they were very responsive when we encounter any problem. They made the effort of walking over to pass us some cooking items we forgot to bring and gave us fresh eggs from their chicken on check in date and the following day too when we asked. Due to some filming on the property, owner has reached out to house us in the other property for the first night which is very beautiful too and has offered 200£ as compensation for the inconvenience. Everything worked well, now waiting for the compensation to be transferred.<br/><br/>Nothing

We stayed at the Parlour for a girls weekend. The property is stunning and done to a very high standard. It was spacious and had everything we needed. The only issue was on Saturday the power started tripping and it turned out to be a problem with the hot tub which we then couldn’t use. Although this was disappointing, John spent ages trying to sort it out for us and later Lynne (and Oscar the dog) can over with sincere apologies, a bottle of Prosecco and some cash back. There’s not much in the area but we didn’t want to do anything but chill at the property so it was perfect for that. Very peaceful and private and beautiful. Would recommend.

just about everything, both properties are stunning and it was absolutely perfect for some quality family time away. our hosts were great, very attentive and helped with anything we needed.<br/><br/>the ONLY downside was that due to the location being on a farm there are a lot of pesky flies hovering around but there’s not a great deal can be done to prevent that.

what can we say!! it’s immaculate!!! top range facilities, everything you need and all beautiful!!! we already plan on booking again this week for next year!! it’s stunning!!!<br/><br/>only 2 things would be on the parlour a hot tub cover maybe with a retractable roof so in the rain etc you can enjoy it a bit more and it deffo needs a light into the property and a sign as it’s a bit tricky to find in the dark and we ended up in a rather unpleasant farmers field!!

The Parlour is a well equipped, ideally located and tranquil property. Great value for money, and certainly no scrimping in amenities. We will definitely be back.

The house was excellent, plenty of space for 6 adults and parking for at least 6 cars if required. Inside was superbly furnished with all the bedrooms having an en-suite. John and Lynne were on hand if required and the welcome gift of the bottle of sparkling wine was much appreciated.<br/><br/>The house is situated in the countryside, so no walking to the nearest pub, but it’s a short drive from Belsay village shop (less than 10 minutes) and about 15-20 minutes into Corbridge which is definitely worth a visit. From the house we were able to comfortably reach Alnwick and Holy Island for day trips.<br/><br/>I’d highly recommend the house, and will definitely look to book again next time we holiday in Northumberland.

We had a wonderful stay at The Parlour, the accommodation is exactly as described. Sometimes places look nice but not comfortable, this was 100% on everything.<br/>A little way out but that is clear in the description and a good base to explore local areas.<br/>We would definitely return!

The parlour is beautifully converted and well appointed. It worked really well for a friends weekend away, with lovely walks and a great hot tub that is easy to get to from the house through a utility room. Charming and welcoming hosts.

I stayed at The Parlour for a week for our anniversary - what a fantastic place. Definitely amongst one of the best AirBnbs I've stayed at. <br/><br/>The home is stunning with modern design and the hosts John & Lynne were just incredible. Greeted us with fresh farm eggs and other welcome gifts and were just a stone's throw away in case I needed anything.<br/><br/>The place does have a BIG hot tub/Jacuzzi that fits 6 people comfortably with controllable temperature and fancy lights. The tub is in a private area that is on the front of the house (the hosts live behind the house) so there is ample privacy. We were not once disturbed<br/><br/>Amazing place with super clean and comfortable beds and toilets. Bonus were the weighted duvets that put me out like a light. Surrounding countryside is just stunning with amazing sunsets.<br/><br/>A++++ would highly recommend

This is a really impressive stay for a very relaxing family break, which is what we used it for. The location is quite remote so perfect for privacy with some lovely walks around. We made good use of the hot tub too! Vindalanda is about 30mins drive away and definitely worth a visit and there's parts of Hadrian's wall pretty much everywhere (if you go for a drive) which is a must really if you stay here! Lilli was a lovely host with some good suggestions, and we enjoyed meeting Oscar the dog! Thanks for having us!

We have recently stayed at the beautiful Parlour near Matfen, Northumberland. Wow, what a place, stunning location and beautiful property, the photo's look lovely but in reality it is so much more and was perfect for our weekend getaway. The views are amazing and it was lovely to sit out on the hot tub on a summers evening and watch the pink skies over the valley with a glass or two of prosecco (1 bottle supplied by the owners as a lovely welcome gift). Great walks on your doorstop and the gorgeous village of Matfen only a couple of miles down the road with the impressive Matfen Hall, which caters for all sorts of activities, we went for afternoon tea but they also have a great spa & pool, Go Ape and quad bike experience if you fancy something a little more adventurous. We've already started to talk about when we can book again for next summer and we would definitely stay at The Parlour again! Host & Stay were the perfect booking agent with an easy online booking system and prompt, responsive customer service team, ensuring we had all of the information we needed leading up to and throughout our stay. Overall a great experience

Beautiful stay at this converted farm location.<br/>In a secluded and very private area.<br/>Hosts were on hand answer questions or deal with any issues.<br/>Having chickens on site with fresh eggs was a big plus and the kids enjoyed feeding the chickens.<br/>Internet was abit hit and miss but in a secluded break like this you may want to switch off and enjoy the peace.<br/>Huge hot tub was a nice touch.<br/>I left some valuables there which the hosts and the letting company were extremely helpful in returning. This was our first stay at this beautiful new property in a great location with amazing views. The owners Lynn and John were incredibly accommodating and had set up birthday decorations which were sent prior to our stay for our arrival and had included a wonderful gift for our group. The accommodation is incredibly spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The hot tub made our stay which was also set up for our arrival, we look forward to returning in the future, thank you.

Fantastic spacious accommodation. The beds were large and incredibly comfortable. All the amenities of home and then some extras. Plenty of space for our two families plus cars. Hot tub was the icing on the cake. Great location in the middle of the countryside, brilliant views and only 35 mins from the centre of Newcastle if you want some city experience. Hadrians wall a short drive with lots of other places to see and things to do all within a short radius. Check-in and out easy as pie. Excellent host (farm next door).
