Neighborhood
The village of Skinningrove is guaranteed to provide the perfect setting for a peaceful retreat. Head to the far end of the village and you’ll discover the beautiful Cattersty sands, one of Britain’s most stunning beaches. A visit to the Land of Iron at Cleveland Ironstone Mining Museum is also worthwhile if you want to discover Skinningrove’s history and traditions.

Just up the bank is the small, family friendly town of Loftus which has independent shops and amenities including the award winning Willow Cake Shop, Wold Pottery for arts and crafts and a micro gin bar. If you’re looking to get active during your stay, join the infamous 100 mile long Cleveland Way Trail or venture to Staithes along Boulby Cliffs which is the highest cliff on the east coast! Loftus is also an ideal base for cycling as you will find the Tour de Yorkshire and the Klondike pass by at the end of the road. If you want to partake in cycling yourself, there are plenty of uphill climbs to get your heart racing!

The gorgeous seaside town of Saltburn-by-the-Sea is also just a short drive away. Here you’ll find golden sandy shores and a bustling town centre. You can take the oldest functioning cliff lift in the UK down to the promenade where you’ll arrive at the 208-metre pier which stretches out into the sea. The beach is overlooked by colourful boutique beach huts, a fish restaurant, arcades and a surf shop making it the ideal spot for a day at the seaside.

Also close to Loftus is the charming fishing village of Staithes. The quaint coastal hamlet was recently named one of Britain’s most beautiful seaside villages. It has high cliffs, winding streets and mismatched cottages bursting with charm. Staithes is a magnet for art and artists alike. Throughout the village you’ll find amazing painted illusions known as the ‘Painted Illusions Trail’ created by the famous artist Paul Czainski. It is also the home to the impressionist art society, known as Staithes Group, and their work can always be seen dotted around. Visit Staithes Gallery and browse the wonderful exhibits inspired by the village.

Whilst not the most picturesque village, Skinningrove has a beautiful beach and locals were friendly. Sitting on the Cleveland Way and close to a major bus route, it was ideal for exploring the coast between Redcar, Whitby and beyond.
The flat itself was furnished nicely and cleaned well. only drawbacks were that parking was quite tight and that the sound proofing between this relatively new built flat and others in the block was quite poor. I don't believe the neighbours were being noisy, it just felt like they were in the flat with you.

Accommodation is spacious.

First time I stayed like this accommodation and the stay was not comfortable for me . Due to unavailability of basic things and unclean areas such as laundry bag, bed sheet is not clean, not provided basic kitchen things (frying pan, basic things like salt, tea bag or coffee powder, no waste bin on toilet, no kitchen towel, only provide 2 towels for 3 number family for 3 night stay etc..).when I ask the house owner regarding the basic things which I need to stay at that accommodation , she stated that "they are self catering apartment we don't provide, that I am afraid sorry".
I booked this accomodation via booking.com under host and stay . After all payments they will charge extra 25£ . This thing only they tell you 24 hours before stay. If you want to get the address you need to pay that 25 £ . When you contact them with this issue they will tell you money will be refundable but don't expect they will not refund.

I already send a mail complaint mail regarding this issue . Waiting for the reply (even though it's day 10).

I was not overly impressed with the accommodation. Upon arrival found dirty cooker, fridge, bin half full from previous guests (including open packet of bacon in bin..), bathroom cupboard was gross. Surfaces were clean and tidy but it was clear it had only a light clean. Boiler was also switched off so had a bit of confusion initially why hot water wasn't working. Thermostat for heating wasn't working as it had no batteries.
Messaged host who was quick to get back to me and sent cleaner round in morning however cooker and fridge was still dirty. Thermostat issue was never resolved, despite my 11 night stay, which meant flat was either boiling hot or cold.
Lastly the damage deposit which they chase you for is very slow to be refunded. From my last day at the accomodation it took 7 working days (1.5 weeks) to receive it back in my bank account.
If staying in the area again I would definitely look elsewhere.

The property amenities the location and the sooo comfy beds the hosts were very helpfull

The WiFi was not available untill the evening before we returned and there was a plug issue in the bathroom which wasn't sorted at all by the plumbers. The hosts were not to blame for this as it was out of there hands and laid solely with BT and the plumbers

N/A

Unfortunately, we didn't get to stay in Bridge House Court apartments due to it being cancelled on the morning we were travelling.
We were moved to an apartment in Loftus, which was not ideal as it was on a busy main road, with road works and constant traffic.
My son struggled to sleep at night with the noise.
Parking is not the best, and the area is quite run down and nothing like the picturesque village of Skinninggrove.
Had to speak to three different people to actually find out what was going on and escalated a complaint for some kind of refund but never heard anything back.
We were disappointed as we had a tough year as a family and had been looking forward to a nice and relaxing holiday.
Will attach photos for comparison. The first one was where we were meant to be staying. The rest are where we ended up staying in a market town and not a village, Loftus doesn't even compare.

Quiet place, nice apartment.

Thermostatic shower so the thing didn’t boil skin off only to be freezing moments later.
The shower rail to have been secured to the wall.
The upstairs toilet to not leak.
The bath over flow to have been connected.
The downstairs toilet light to have worked.

Lovely quiet village a short walk to a great unspoiled beach.
Highly recommend the Kascane cafe /bar on the edge of the village tasty food good portions and great prices!
Apartment was clean and comfortable had everything you need for your stay.
Just a few minor issues which hopefully will be rectified quickly,a loose kitchen tap new toilet seat required and some of the cookware is a bit old and could do with replacing.Would recommend and would stay here again ??

**Beware the hidden fees**
I use Airbnb regularly, and rarely read the full description. I reserved the place - no cancellation - to find I had to sign up to an external company's T&C's and pay additional fees which to me is completely against the concept of Airbnb - I spoke with them and they confirmed 'professional hosts' are allowed to do this.
The place itself was great - good location with a short walk to the beach. Very comfy apartment with everything you need, we really enjoyed our stay!

Good location, adequate facilities and comfortable and clean.

No hot water. This wasn't resolved in our stay, however we were given access to a different apartment so were able to wash. The kitchen tap is very loose. There could be more crockery

A great place to stay for a walking or rambling break, with the Cleveland Way right on your doorstep and a friendly pub at the edge of the village.
The apartment was very clean and tidy. Parking was on a first come first served basis, so you may need to park outside the courtyard if you had more than one car.
The directions to the apartment didn't match the 'Get Directions' link, however the map on the property link was accurate, and Host & Stay were very helpful to try to direct us to the right place.
Host and Stay were in regular contact and always responded quickly to any queries.
Thank you for a lovely stay!
