Honest review of Darcey house. The house is imaculate and very spacious. The beds and linen are seriously comfortable and consistent throughout all the rooms. Kitchen very well equipped and very clean. Host and stay was a pleasure to deal with. Negatives are car parking in the street is restricted until 5pm and the car parks are not really near to the property. This made things awkward when needing your vehicle. I would suggest the property owners invest in parking permits for the guests who stay. This is honestly the only negative. At the bottom of the street there is a fabulous park for peaceful walks. It’s very close to Scarborough north beach which has some trendy bars serving alcohol coffee and food. Overall we had an amazing stay at the property and host and stay couldn’t do enough for us. I will 100% holiday with host and stay again.

The house is lovely and located in a quiet area. However our experience was marred by incorrect information and a pretty shoddy service from host and stay. First, they list the property as having free parking. It doesn't. We always check for this when booking as one of us has mobility issues so it was a massive disappointment to find the parking is pay and display and about a 10 min walk from the house. I raised this with the company and was promised that it would be escalated and I would be contacted about it. I wasn't. Second, we arrived to find the house freezing cold with no hot water or heating. I called the company and was put on hold for an age. Whilst on hold we managed to solve the issue with the boiler but the house is so big it took ages to warm up so it was not too comfortable on the first night. Third, the fireplaces were still full of ash from previous visitors. Will never book with these again. Not the usual personal and friendly Airbnb experience we are used to.

We chose this property as it advertises free parking outside of the house & our mum has mobility issues. Arrived to find this isn't true & we had to park quite far away. There was also no heating or hot water on so it was really cold. You can't call the 'host' direct & they didn't even check we'd got things sorted. Not a great to start to what was meant to be a stress free weekend with our terminally ill mum. The property is well furnished & spacious. One other minor thing no bins in the toilets which isn't great. Would not book with this company again.

A beautifully equipped, spacious house within walking distance of the park and a little further to the seafront. Exactly as described, exactly as per the photos online.
Everything was spot- on and we'd definitely recommend this property!
Just one thing:- a resident's parking permit for street parking would have been quite useful. Parking was a bit tricky as we had elderly family members with us.

Darcy house was well decorated and felt at home but the hob didn't work everytime we tried to cook our meals. it was on and off. Host and Stay ruined our holiday by giving wrong information regarding the car park as they said we can park on the premises for free of charge and it costed us 3 parking tickets. and also they said they will send someone to have a look at the hob no one turned up until we checked out.

Loved our stay, everything we needed to have some cosy nights. Family came from different parts of the country and it was great to have a bit of privacy for everyone with the many bedrooms and two separate living rooms.
I have one little complaint, no fire wood was left so we had to go and buy some. But that is the only thing I can complain about ??

The quality of the property is excellent. Sofas and bedding very good quality. Great location, 5 mins walk to park and carpark and 10 mins to beach. Couple of little extras would have made it even better such as speaker to connect phone to for music, oven gloves and car parking permits. We made a full Xmas dinner for 12 and all fit comfortably in the property. Communication very good.
