Nestled in the beautiful village of Beadnell on the Northumberland coastline, The Bach is a recently refurbished property with style in abundance. Aptly named, a ‘Bach’ is a cosy and modest holiday home. Pronounced ‘batch’, it was thought to be originally short for bachelor pad but actually often tended to be a family holiday home. Sleeping up to 4 guests, this bach is dog friendly and perfect for family staycations, romantic retreats and getaways with friends.
The Space
Upon entering The Bach, you’ll be impressed with its bright and modern look. Recently renovated to the highest standard, the house boasts premium furniture and luxury interiors. Perfect for socialising, the ground floor has an open plan kitchen, living and dining room.
After a fun day at the beach, retreat to the living area with your loved ones for a cosy night in. Snuggle up on the sofa and turn on the flat screen TV to keep up with your favourite shows. Beautifully styled, the living area has a grey and mustard colour scheme with touches of tartan soft furnishings.
The kitchen is ultra stylish with dark blue cabinets and marble worktops. Perfectly on trend, it also has white brick style tiles which complement the space beautifully. You’ll have everything you need for your self-catering stay as The Bach is fully equipped with an oven, hob, fridge, microwave, toaster and kettle. There are also the added luxuries of a washing machine, dryer and dishwasher.
The dining area includes a modern white dining table with four dining chairs. Ideal for family meals and dining with friends, there is ample space for all of your party.
Head upstairs to the first floor and you’ll find two bedrooms and the family bathroom. The master bedroom boasts a king size bed with a comfy mattress and plush bedding. With crisp white walls and spotlights, this space is tranquil and modern. Pops of colour and luxury are added through teal coloured soft furnishings and beautiful wall prints.
Along the hallway is the second bedroom. Boasting the same high finish as the rest of the house, the room has comfortable twin beds with mustard blankets and cushions. A truly cosy space to relax, you’ll enjoy your sleep at The Bach.
Unique in style, the family bathroom has white tiled walls and a striking patterned, tiled floor. The space boasts a bath with an overhead shower, a vanity unit and a WC.
Outside you’ll find a fully enclosed garden with outdoor furniture. Ideal for al fresco dining and drinks in the sunshine, this is an added bonus with the property. Right on the water, you’ll have lovely views with the sound of the river passing by.
Neighborhood
The Bach is located in Beadnell - a charming village right on the Northumberland coast. Ideal for seaside stays, the village is set at the end of a stunning stretch of sandy shores. At the North end of the bay is the harbour and to the South you’ll find huge sand dunes which go on for miles. Gather all of the family together to enjoy the renowned watersports on offer. From surfing and sailing to scuba diving and bodyboarding, you won’t get bored of things to do at Beadnell Bay!
If you want to get active during your stay, Beadnell is also ideal for walking as it boasts great routes along the coastline with unrivalled views. You can also relax at one of the many restaurants on offer. Just a short 5 minute walk from The Bach is the Craster Arms where you can enjoy a drink and food within a building which dates back to the 15th century.
Beadnell is just 4 miles from Bamburgh so you can easily explore other areas within Northumberland during your stay. Here you can head to England’s most northerly land-based lighthouse where there are incredible views of the Holy Island. You can also visit Bamburgh Castle, a striking Grade I listed building which has stood on the Northumberland coastline for over 1,400 years. Known as one of the finest castles in the country, there is a wealth of history to uncover during your visit.
Getting Around
The Bach is within walking distance of all that Beadnell has to offer.
If you plan on visiting other towns and villages during your stay, hop on the Arriva X18 route which travels to Newcastle with stops in Amble and Alnwick amongst others.

Guests have access to the full property. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.
There is one designated parking space for The Bach in the carpark as well as free on street parking.

Modern, clean, good location

Couldn’t park outside
31/10/2024
Met all the basic requirements, clean and comfortable.
Outside was a bit tired but lovely inside and very comfortable beds.
Good to have off street parking.
Good use of space inside the property and nicely decorated.

Great clean and well kept property. We've stayed there before so knew what to expect - a welcome addition was the blinds that have since been added. Will definately look to book again.

Nothing really - it would have been nice if there was an oven glove but I'm scratching around to find something to write here!

Once we had located the property entry was easy

.It took us a good half hour to locate the property after arriving in Beadnell. The directions were unclear and the map completely misleading. The house number was faded so we passed by more than once before asking a neighbour.

Lovely location

Everything good

The place was lovely, however the main electric radiator in the open plan downstairs area was broken. Stay were very slow to respond even though I reported within a couple of hours of arrival. In fact they did nothing to attempt to resolve, despite me messaging them repeatedly over our stay period. Additionally, the TV didn’t work, suspect remotes were maybe flat and no spare batteries in the house.
I have asked Stay to consider a partial refund as we were absolutely frozen, as it was first weekend in October and weather was wild and windy.

Location, very quiet cul-de-sac,house modern and well equipped.
Good pubs and beach nearby

All good

The style and decor of the inside of the property was excellent. Everything you would need for a stay with the family. Great view across the old quarry which is now a small lake/nature reserve.

Everything was great, the only thing would be more than one toilet roll to be provided.

Beautiful property and location. The property is modern, clean and has everything you need

Great little place. Perfect for bird watching over the “lake” walking distance to the beach, the pub and village store
28/07/2024
The location, very quiet and on the banks of a small lake.
Really good location to walk into the centre of Beadnell and also to the Beach & Harbour. Parking is on the road, and it’s a great location to explore the Northumberland Coast.

Just being picky and a personal view that the double mattress was too soft and uncomfortable . The bedrooms were very warm and quilts too warm, but this is my view. In the Winter they would be really good! 4pm is quite late to be able to check in, normally in other places it’s 3pm.

A fantastic house and we had a wonderful time! We couldn't believe the lovely views and fantastic location of The Bach- it's a 5min walk to the beach and to the coffee shops and pubs in Beadnell village, and only a few mins to drive along to Seahouses and Bamburgh.

The house is bright and modern, with everything needed for a very comfortable stay. The garden and outdoor seating area back onto a tranquil area of water- see photo- perfect for a peaceful morning coffee.

You've created a really calm and beautifully appointed home. Thank you!

Good central location. Airy open plan, safe private garden.
Quiet residential backwater

But Last minute “ hidden extras “ (shortly before departure).
1. Pay a £250 deposit against damage. Refundable but £10 handling deduction. or
2. Log onto 3rd Party Insurance web site & buy ( their ) £25 damage waiver insurance ( which we did)
Far better to have incorporated this into the up- front purchase price if it was part of the contract.
This allied to ‘ Host & Stay Group Limited ‘ sets a bad tone.
3. No marked paring space

Location & bedrooms

Tv awful ?,had to contact owner , cooker was locked , water heater in cupboard with no info till we phoned & had to get them to raise heating from their end
26/06/2024
The house was modern and clean and had all the home comforts we needed. The bed was comfortable. Shower was easy to work.

The parking space is not marked clearly with the number showing.
24/06/2024
The property was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. The location was lovely and quiet.

We couldn’t find the designated parking space in the car park nearby as mentioned in the property guidebook so we had to park on the street.

Lovely quiet location about 10 mins from seahouses. Clean and comfortable. Good provision of cooking equipment and utensils. Good location quiet area, 5 mins walk from beach, local pub and shop. Dog friendly fully fenced and nice outdoor seating area. Comfortable beds.

On arrival greeted by overflowing, smelly rubbish bin at front door.
Unclear where to park instructions said space had sign on but we could not find this.
Television said satellite but we could not find channels and awkward to change channels etc.
Provided 4 bath towels but only 1 hand towel which was inadequate for 4 guests.

Cozy and convenient

Nothing

The property in general is superbly set up and designed. Situated wirhin about a 10-15 minute walk from one bay and 20-25 from another.

The television is poor, slow and difficult to use
06/05/2024
Location, facilities, cleanliness

Shower pressure was very low
21/04/2024
Excellent location, very clean and comfortable.
13/04/2024
The house is lovely and had everything we needed. Host responded very quickly when I messaged them.
It is a short walk to the beach. Lovely area.

The water takes time to boost so you just need to make sure you do this early enough.
09/04/2024
Great location, clean and pleasant home. Recommend you take additional toilet roll, dishwasher tablets and tea towels if going for more than a couple of days as only one of each is provided. Put hot water on for an hour at least initially or it doesn’t warm up

Unable to locate parking space and staff no help despite many promises over 3 days. Be aware that the property is not where they tell you it is on the street. Second bedroom is functional but snug.

Great place to stay, close to endless beach walks, our dog loved it!
14/03/2024
nicely furnished properly

would have liked a separate toilet
26/02/2024
Lovely waterside location, great styling inside the property. Wonderful closeness to the beach and facilities in Beadnell village such as shop, pub and coffee shop.

Disliked having to wait for the immersion heater to warm up in order to have a bath and the property was an effort to heat.

Most of the facilities you need and it was clean and seemed a new refurb, but not v comfortable. It was very cold inside- the small electric radiators were set to 5 degrees when we got there and even after we turned everything up full it took about 4 hours before we warmed up.
The water heater was poor, there wasn’t enough to have a bath and you had to turn it on boost for half an hour before you could wash up. The cutlery seemed to be the cheapest thin aluminium sort from IKEA. The house was on an estate where it all appeared to be empty holiday lets with v few locals.
The parking instructions were wrong and when we called the agent they just repeated the wrong instructions we already had.
Probably warm enough in the summer.
10/11/2023
Nice quiet location at this time of year Close to nice restaurants Craster Arms, Beadnell Towers both dog friendly Good location to walk to the beach Nice modern property too with a small garden overlooking a lake.

Great place to stay in beautiful Beadnell
26/10/2023
Great location.
The communications from the vendor was exceptional and all instructions (getting into the property, logging onto the WiFi etc)were easy to follow.
There were lots of different areas for chilling out, the garden terrace in particular was a great spot to sit and have a recharge.

The parking space was a little difficult to find and I think the TV wasn't working properly (although I didn't use the latter much).
19/10/2023
Comfortable, clean, ideal for short family trip

Shower not very hot despite ‘boosting’

The house is exactly like in the photos. Clean, modern, and nicely furnished. The twin room is very small but that was expected. Very responsive customer service team. Nice view onto the water.

Lack of essential items. We were provided with one dishwasher tablet, one tiny shower gel and 2 toilet rolls (for 4 people!). I understand that a full stock of items for a whole week shouldn’t be expected, but a few more basics would have been great. When asked about this we were told we had got a ‘starter pack’. The kitchen was generally well equipped but needed an oven glove, and an extra tea towel would have been useful.

We stayed at The Bach 1-6 September 2023
The place was cosy & had everything we needed for our stay.
Great communication & info on the area & places to eat off you need it.
A couple of niggles but nothing to complain about, the beds were very comfortable.
Outdoor seating could do with a little TLC but cushions are provided, nice & peaceful by the lake.
Easy walk into Beadnell & the beautiful beach, check out The Landing for food & drinks , very chilled vibe.
I would definitely stay at The Bach again :)
23/08/2023
Location great

Lack of kitchen facilities - no basic things for self catering like salt or pepper. Only 2 dishwasher tablets and we were staying for 2 weeks. 1 Loo roll. UHT min sachets of milk - would have been really nice to have some fresh milk etc a a mini welcome pack.
06/08/2023
It was clean inside

Firstly not until I actually booked the property was I aware of the additional payment of £25 or £250 per person to act against any possibility’s of damage to the property, I’ve never had to pay that anywhere else I have booked.
There was no hot water during our stay here apart from the electric shower, and there was dog muck scattered around the garden.
Would I book again, NO!
13/07/2023
Great place to stay with lots of home comforts. Easy walking distance to both beaches which are perfect for taking in the views and swimming if you are brave enough!
Beautiful home in a peaceful setting next to the quarry which is full of wildlife.
08/07/2023
Ideal for beach . Short walk away . Enclosed garden

No hot water in kitchen or bath. Only the shower was hot . Slippy bath , no none slip mat . Windows did not open wide enough.

house is very clean and well equipped. Instructions are clear and easy to follow. Good communications. House is not in the nicest location but the nearby village is lovely

House was lovely with everything we needed, location was excellent for fabulous beach views and walks. Very clean and comfortable! located right on a river-beautiful scenery.
5 minute walk to Beadnell beach (1 hour free parking if you take the car )
Short drive close to Seahouses-beautiful fish and chips!
The property was very clean and had everything we needed.
Looking forward to coming back In the summer to make use of the garden. Our stay was in January so we were unable to sit out.

couldn’t fault the property. The one thing I would recommend is a door draught excluder as it was very windy our first night. No one’s fault and we did improvise by using a spare blanket. : )

Lovely property and what really stands out is the responsiveness of the host. We had a couple of queries which were emailed through and both times we received responses within minutes
04/11/2022
excellent location, very very clean and well equipped!
03/11/2022
The property is well located in a nice quiet area

The state of cleanliness very poor considering this is supposed to be luxury accommodation
19/10/2022
House does everything it says on the tin - pond at the back of the house is a nice touch for a morning cuppa. Perfectly located for exploring the northernly end of the Northumberland coast. Beach, cafes, restaurants pubs all within walking distance. Ticked all our boxes.
28/09/2022
Location was good and kitchen and bathroom good.

The twin bedroom was so small only one person could dress at a time and was obviously only a single room . It spoiled our stay and wouldn’t recommend it to four other visitors. It was very expensive for three days of discomfort.
10/09/2022
The Bach is a great holiday stay close to Beadnell Beach. You can walk through the estate and be on the beach in less than 15 minutes. The house is clean and provides everything you will need for a lovely holiday by the sea. We were visiting family in Bamburgh whilst we were here and we found The Bach to be a perfect base. We have already recommended this property to others. The kitchen has everything, including a dishwasher and washing machine if you are staying for a longer stay. The bedrooms are really modern with very comfortable beds. The garden looks onto the water (an old quarry) and is tranquil and relaxing especially in the morning. A perfect little house for a relaxing break!

As a family group of 4 adults the second bedroom was really small, particularly for storing luggage so we stored all of our bags in the main bedroom as this was more spacious.
07/09/2022
Location was great for getting around. Property was as expected, clean and comfortable.

There was no hot water. But as the shower was electric this wasn't really an issue
12/08/2022
Nice and quiet area. Not too far from the beach. Bamburgh was awesome.
29/07/2022
Fantastic accommodation. Would highly recommend.
25/07/2022
N/a to breakfast
Excellent location within easy distance of everywhere we wanted to visit

The television remote control didn't work very well
09/07/2022
As the weather wasn't great we spent quite a lot of time in the property. The sofa was very uncomfortable providing no support . The bed was also uncomfortable. Location was in the middle of a housing estate, not really somewhere that I would choose for a holiday again.

Great furnishings and comfy sofa.
Beds weren’t hugely comfy and water system was lacking. WiFi hard to use for laptop but great space for children and loved the pond outside.

WiFi password for laptop was hard to get hold of.

Nit much power on the shower
14/04/2022
Clean, comfortable and modern with a well equipped kitchen.. Lovely location by a body of water (previously a quarry). We are a family of 3 and found it ideal for our needs. The outside seating was a nice touch too.
03/04/2022
looks newly refurbished. Good supply of all required, glasses plates etc and cooking dishes, though we mainly ate out
Very clean and warm . close by walks to pubs and beach etc.
24/02/2022
Didn’t realise wasn’t enough room in bedroom 2 for the cot bed we brought, so our daughter had to sleep in the same room as us.

Clean and tidy and in a quiet location.
Everything you’d need in the kitchen. Location good for walks and the local pubs etc. Craster Arms bar meals are very good. There is a private parking place or you can park on the street near the property. For hot water you need to press a boost button in the airing cupboard at the top of the stairs, if you don’t there is no hot water, this is explained in the house info emailed to you before you arrive by the agents.
A tidy garden with table and chairs.
26/09/2021
Very Disappointing . We had high hopes given the photos of the modern listing.
It says hot water is available. We had none for the first day and a half of our stay . We were only there for the weekend . When we arrived the cups and cutlery were filthy. Certainly not to the Airbnb Covid standards . I sent photos to the host on our arrival . The Bach has no normal kettle and as we had no hot water we had to keep heating the given, one cup only, dispenser kettle to wash them up which took time out of our already short break . The kettle is frankly dangerous. It delivers a set one cup volume of hot water from a steam output nozzle which burnt my hand . We could not bath our baby and had no hot water to wash our hands after using the toilet .
Our complaint finally led to the owner calling us to say that there was a boost button in the cupboard upstairs as everything was electric. There was no written information anywhere to explain that you needed to press boost to get hot water just to wash your hands . We tried the boost for 15 mins and it didn’t even air the water . The price charged for this property is ridiculous for the level of amenities provided. The second bedroom has two twin small beds not normal single beds. We had thought we could push the two beds together but the bedroom is too small for this as there is an electric heater at one side and a wardrobe at the other so if you put them together you would have to crawl up from the door . So the beds really are only suitable for children not adults
The outside cushions were dirty and stained and the tables were full of bird poo not wiped for weeks .
Child safety gate at the bottom of the stairs but not at the top ???
We complained during our stay but had no real positive response or empathy from the management company or owner
There are no blinds in the lounge so if the sun is out you can’t see the TV
18/09/2021
Convenient spot for walking to beach and village shop. Quiet location.
21/08/2021
Fantastic house in a really good location close to a beautiful beach. The house was really well equipped and had everything we needed.
17/08/2021
The Bach is a 70’s style purpose built building but has been recently refurbished and decorated - we felt like we had stepped into an Ikea store! All very modern and clean.
There is allocated parking for one small - medium car and off street parking outside of the property if you have a bigger car or two cars.
Sadly, whilst in a quiet area of Beadnell village, the walls are thin so you can hear your neighbours at times. The Bach is suitable for a couple and one child or two friends due to the size of it.
The walk to the beach is around 15-20 minutes but would take longer with little ones.
The garden is really large, well maintained and has seats to relax on.
Great WiFi and phone signal.
13/08/2021
Clean and well equipped
31/07/2021
Well situated house which was clean and welcoming. Good communication beforehand and during the stay.
12/07/2021
This is a lovely property - beautifully appointed and in a lovely location just minutes from the beach. It's private and quiet with nice views. Everything in the house is new and carefully chosen. We enjoyed our stay very much.
09/06/2021
Great place to stay. Easy walk to pubs and beach. The house has been very recently done up and every thing feels brand new. Great outside seating area.
22/05/2021
Is a bit smaller than looks on photos. Twin bedroom has very little space. Excellent condition and great location. 5-10 minutes walk to beach access. Very pleasant place to stay.
17/04/2021
We are a family of 4 (2 adults, 2 children -a 12 and 15yr old) and spent a lovely few days staying at the Bach. It’s ideally placed within a 10 minute walk of a long sandy beach. The Bach is well equipped, functional and the beds comfy. It sleeps 4 but the property is small so it’s a bit snug. It’s a perfect place for a weeks summer holiday but you might struggle with the space if you stayed longer or in the winter.
