Perks of being a host

Tuesday 26th October, 2021 by Host & Stay

Since the start of the global pandemic, travel has been affected massively. In fact, in early 2021 Go Compare conducted a survey that found only 13 per cent of Britons were planning on travelling abroad – instead, two thirds of the UK were planning a staycation, with 25 per cent planning to use a B&B and 21 per cent opting for self-catering accommodation.

And with staycations looking set to remain popular for the foreseeable, now is a better time than ever to jump on the bandwagon and make some money from your holiday home.

We have put together some of the top perks to being a host with Host & Stay…

1. The income

Without a doubt, the biggest perk of renting out your holiday home is the additional income

The stream of cash from hosting will give you a regular monthly income (mostly passive), allowing you to use your time whichever way you want to. Plus, it’s up to each host to decide how much to charge per night, per week, or per month.

It is worth noting, however, that your income as a short-term rental owner will still depend on a lot of factors including:

  • The location
  • Amount of rooms
  • Attractions nearby

2. Flexibility

As a Host & Stay host, you’re in control.

You’re not required to host all the time and you can choose which days you want to offer to potential guests. You also have control over the guests you accept.

3. Meet people

Looking to meet some friendly faces? Being a host can actually build long-lasting friendships, with both guests and fellow property owners.

If you’re hosting in your own place, it’s a great way to meet people from all around the country – and even the world. If you take the time to listen, you’ll discover that most of them will have interesting stories to tell.

4. Learn new skills

You can quickly build skills in numerous areas like customer service, marketing, communications, negotiations, finance, and, of course, hosting and managing a business – all without studying.

Once you begin to host, these are skills you will pick up along the way which will eventually come naturally to you.

We will be here every step of the way whenever you need support.

5. You’re not alone

We are here to help you through every step of your hosting process, with things such as:

  • A professional photographer to help your property drive more bookings
  • A copywriter to articulate your property’s best features
  • 360 account management – a single contact for all of the support you may need

If you feel that being a host of your property sounds tempting, get started on your journey now.
