We understand that our four-legged friends are part of the family so if you have a dog, it’s likely you won’t want them to miss out on the fun.

The UK has some gorgeous places which are great for a dog friendly holidays. Here are a few of our personal favourites…

North Yorkshire

At 182 miles long, England’s Coast to Coast is made up by connecting dozens of existing footpaths, bridle ways, minor roads and other rights of way crossing the breadth of England, from St Bees in Cumbria to Robin Hood’s Bay in North Yorkshire.

Despite the path not having been given National Trail status, it is the most popular long distance walk in Great Britain. The path presents attractive and unique scenery, and a glimpse of England’s ancient history; it allows you to experience walking in the Yorkshire Dales, venture up and down the rolling hills of the North York Moors, and all awhile learning of our Prehistoric and pre-industrial past.

South Wales

With incredible scenery and beautiful wildlife, begin your journey at the village of Gwaelod y Garth, following the country road for a little over a mile until you get to a route marker pointing towards the steep hillside towards the mountain. When you make it to the peak there is an ancient burial site, where you will be able to see spectacular views of the Brecon Beacons and Cardiff, and sometimes as far as the Bristol Channel and Somerset on a clear day.

This is a great opportunity to take in the sights and have a refreshing drink with your four-legged friend observing the views.

Northumberland

Northumberland is a magical county full of surprises. With ancient castles, unspoilt beaches and rolling hills, there’s plenty for your pup to explore. Uncover hidden gardens and appreciate unrivalled, scenic views. Brush up on your history knowledge with a visit to Hadrian’s Wall or venture to the Holy Island of Lindisfarne which is cut off twice per day from the rest of the world by the fast-moving tides.
