We really enjoyed our stay at the Music Room. However we do have a few suggestions that would enhance the experience for any future guests. We felt some more kitchen utensils would greatly facilitate cooking , things like small saucepans , a milk saucepan, , a pudding basin, wooden spoons etc. We really missed the convenience of a microwave but we thought perhaps it was something that you as a family didn’t use. Anyway…. we had an absolutely wonderful stay and would be only too pleased to come back. Thank you for everything and also being so flexible.
Bob and Margaret.

Lovely cottage but has issues. From previous reviews it’s clear Host and Stay aren’t interested in elevating this from an OK place to stay to a great one plus they charge an extra insurance fee. They gave no check in info re parking and no response to our messages. Once we were inside we found a parking permit and some deduction worked out it was for behind the houses opposite, which itself has confusing signage. The lock on the bedroom window is broken so the property is never secure! Bedroom blind was broken and held open by a cocktail stick! Although it was ineffective when we did get it closed. Blind in lounge was broken though we fixed it easily. Lounge was very dusty above and below eye level and had a lingering musty/damp smell. Furniture is very uncomfortable so don’t expect to cosy up in the evening! Beds are uncomfortable too so no respite! Rope rail to loft room was broken so the stairs are dangerous. Rubbish left overflowing in courtyard.
Shower was good. Great location.

We enjoyed our stay at 6 Duck lane however it wasn’t without flaws. At arrival we noticed the bathroom tab was leaking and although someone came to have a look quickly the problem didn’t get fixed and we cldnt use sink and washing machine for the time we were there.
Also what wasn’t mentioned in the ad is the extra payment you have to make for insurance for breakages. This is after payment for accomodation had been made and confirmation was send. This didn’t seem appropriate so we contacted Airbnb. They advised us not to pay as it’s against their rules of charging money after complete payment had been made. However Host and Stay wouldn’t give us the details to enter the accomodation until we made arrangements for this so called insurance.

Location.
Bedroom was fine
Clean

Lots!
Car park pass but no indication of which car park it related to so wasted loads of time working that out. Rang host and stay - they were supposed to fey back to us and didn't.
Lounge was dark and smell musty. Uncomfortable seating so did not want to spend time in the house.
Stairs really steep!
No hot water to bathroom sink. If you plug in the heater under the sink, water leaks all over the floor.
Was clean but felt like it had been done on the cheap

Absolutely great customer service and satisfaction. Quick and positive response always. Almost 24/7 customer service. Responsive and helpful and respectful staff. They do their job promptly without your asking, and they check up on you regularly.
Thank you, Host and Stay! It was amazing dealing with you.

Skv?lé místo, klidná a autentická destinace. Bezproblémové ubytování a fungování. Když odladíte všechny nejasnosti fane tím, že vám pokoj nikdo nep?edá, docela to ujde. Rozhodn? je to ale spíš na p?espávání než na plnohodnotný pobyt a bydlení.

Nejasnosti kolem parkování. P?i p?íjezdu nevyv?tráno a nevytopeno. Nekomfortní vybavení (chybí gau?, ne?istá konvice, výhled do dvorku, kde byl p?íšerný nepo?ádek...). Pr?tokový oh?íva? vody v koupeln? funguje zvláštn?. Možná by bylo pot?eba, aby nám to n?kdo ukázal a vše by mohlo b?žet hned a lépe a na první dobrou. Takhle je první dojem rozpa?itý. Ale postupn? se dost vylepšil.

Perfect location in Canterbury, easy walk into the middle of the city, and convenient for a few good pubs/restaurants when you didn't want to. Furniture is a little unconfy if you want to laze around as it is a little old fashioned and formal. You need to be mobile to use the second bedroom as it is a very steep climb up there, but it is fun if you can. Heating is a bit odd and I'm not sure it would be too good in the middle of winter but any other time of year is fine.

Absolutely wonderful place to stay, not only a very clean and cosy home, with everything two couples needed, but an absolutely ideal location for anyone looking to explore Canterbury.
Literally less than a minute from one of the loveliest pubs we’ve been to, The Parrot (which dates back to the 14th Century), and only moments walk from the Cathedral and other sights, all of which made our weekend wonderful.
The only issue was that the toilet seat was broken, and there were some issues with hot water. The latter we managed to resolve in the shower, though the bathroom sink remained a slight mystery. It looked to have a separate water heater underneath but we didn’t find instructions for this.
Despite that, the communication for check in was swift and easy to understand, and the place itself was everything we needed.

Lovely modern cottage in the centre of Canterbury, perfect for a long weekend stay to visit the beautiful city that surrounds it. Free parking that’s close to the house a lovely spacious bathroom. The house is a short walk from everything you need to see in Canterbury such as the cathedral and the gardens. Would not recommend for people with mobility issues as the stairs are quite steep but the beds are very comfortable! Perfect for a group of 4 :)

The cottage is in a well located street in central Canterbury with easy walking to all historic sites and shops. It is clean and has a period atmosphere and decor. There are some issues that need attention. The electric heating system is not sufficient, it was very cold on arrival, the infra red heating panels are on the ceiling, the only way to switch them on is to climb on a chair or use a broom handle. Surely a wall switch marked heating is not impossible? The panel in the first floor bedroom is hidden behind a wooden door, heaters and switches are not suitable for some guests, especially the older person or children. The bathroom is really cold, a heated towel rail does not provide sufficient warmth. The shower only works on one setting and is not very powerful. On arrival we found the kettle not working. We reported this to Blue Fox, told they would ask the owner if they could purchase one! A previous guest had already reported this so there was time beforehand to replace kettle.

The location was great , nice and easy walk into town . The house smelt slightly and the heating was infrared heaters that were not timed so when you got back to the house it was cold . The kettle didn't work and we had one cereal bowl !
The seats in the living room were old and uncomfortable . There was a church pew with a small seat mattress which was awful and two old chairs that was full of dust opposite the tv and these were uncomfortable . The other small 2 seater sofa must of been 60 plus years old and again very uncomfortable .
The shower was not very good as it lacked power with only one setting working . Again the bathroom heater was not providing a lot of heat .
Shame because the location was great and blue fox were great too . The house is in need of some serious renovation work

We booked the place for a month while we were looking for a permanent place. Location was very important for us that is why this was an ideal place to stay for us, as we were able to walk everywhere. We stayed with my 3,5 years old son, for him stairs were a bit dangerous but we kept an eye on him at all time. I would say it is nice for a short stay to experience Canterbury. Things to improve, Kitchen utensils, plates and bowls . Furnitures in the living room could be improved, more comfortable sofas needed:) Great location.
Thank you
Saniye

It was a perfect little house in a great location. 5 mins walk to Canterbury Cathedral and shops.
I did chose the cottage because it had free parking. I was told to park in a carpark opposite but it was permits only and there was no permit. I tried to call but did not get an answer until the next day saying there should be a permit in the house and there wasn't. It meant i had to pay £40 in total to park in the closest car park for 2 days. I would love to stay there again. It is convenient for me visiting my daughter at Uni in Canterbury but will not do so unless there is reassurance of free parking.
