The location is superb, short walking distance to the Cathedral area. The house was clean, clutter-free, comfortable bed and seating. The reviews are right about the sewer smell in the bathroom and the lack of pots and pans. Communication with Host & Stay was cumbersome: they did not respond to questions via the Booking.com system, so we had to phone them. The Booking.com page says that the damage deposit “will be refunded in full”, but I couldn’t book without an £ 10 ‘admin charge’. Asked about this, Host & Stay replied they “have limited access to update the information directly” on the Booking site. This makes you wonder if all info there is up-to-date. There is a lot of early-morning traffic noise in this ground-floor apartment at the front of the house. The entry codes to apartments were rather easy to guess.

Excellent location with parking on site. Grand common entrance gives a great and welcoming first impression. The apartment is a good size with beautiful features like high ceilings, cornice, sash & casement windows etc. Clean and homely. Good security. The heating/hot water instructions were different to emails, however, we managed to get working.

Great location to Durham city center, cathedral and some university facilities. Silly really but no shower shelf for necessities, everything goes on the floor of a small tight space.

Great location and easy to find. Comfortable and well equipped apartment, good communication from the host. The bathroom is quite small but the shower with the rain attachment is lovely. There was a smell from the drain in the bathroom - previous guests have mentioned this. There were a few stains on the carpet in both bedrooms. For the price I would have expected a few basics in the kitchen (coffee, oil, salt and pepper).

Location is good and the property itself was obviously renovated well in the past. Unfortunately it has not been maintained well. The smell of drains (see other reviews). The property wasn’t clean. The hosts did not respond to my attempt to contact them until less than 24hrs before we were due to leave. Very poor customer service with no resolution our complaint from the host. In the end Booking.com intervened but also didn’t get a response. They have resolved our complaint themselves.

Great contact with the owners. Provided a useful guide book prior to arrival to facilitate a smooth entry to the accommodation.

Die Lage war super. Direkt im Herzen von Durham. Alle Sehenswürdigkeiten in der Altstadt nur wenige Minuten entfernt. Viel zu wenig Geschirr, Gläser und Kochutensilien in der Küche. Die Wohnung war sehr oberflächlich renoviert. Auf den ersten Blick hübsch aber Schimmel im Schlafzimmer war nur mit einem großen Bild verhängt und übergemalt. Die Codes der Wohnungstüren waren selbst erklärend. Einfach für die Putzkräfte aber auch für mögliche Einbrecher. Der Hinweis per Mail, auf eine Nachberechnung sollten wir auch nur wenige Minuten die Wohnung zu spät verlassen haben, war überflüssig.

We stayed in the Tunstall for four nights. Location good. Close to the Elvet bridge, city,restaurants Quiet at night, bed comfortable, nice and dark at night. We both slept well. Apartment warm. Kitchen worked well. Shower great. Well equipped. Internet didn’t work. Phone call to manager who said they would come round and fix it. They didn’t. They did give us the password to another apartments internet and that worked, but you had to be in the lounge. The modem box was out so we guessed this was not a fresh issue, just an issue that has not been addressed. 2 adults for 4 nights and only two toilet rolls !!The place costs gbp 210 a night. I’ve seen this same comment previously, so BYO toilet rolls. Same comment shampoo and body wash. Instructions on how to lock the door would help people from overseas who have not seen that type of locking mechanism before. The confirmation from booking dot com shows an extra charge of gbp 25 for cleaning but no one cleaned while we were there. It also shows an extra charge of gbp 25 for “service fee” I am not aware of any services that we received. The managers of the property send me an email about checking in, every day. Every day before checking in, every day after checking in and daily after checking out. It looks like a glitch in the system. Floor rug in lounge is stained and needs replacing. Extraction fan in the toilet would not turn off. Didn’t like the smell from the vanilla scented plug in air freshener. It was a lovely place with a lot of positives. But …too many negatives for the price (gbp 210 a night). In my opinion it did not represent good value for money.

Loved the location and the fact that there was parking. Excellent communication with owners.. Bed very comfy. The bedroom didn't have blinds on the top windows so very light in the room. So woke up very early.. Towels were tiny and bathroom was a bit tired as was the rest of the flat. But it was generally clean and a large property.

Location is excellent, close to the city centre. The apartment is clean and tidy. Adequate kitchenware were provided. Prompt response by the host when there were enquiries. Good that a washing machine could be used but no hangers were provided. No television channels in the living room's tv (need to log into own's accounts perhaps) The tv could be used in the bedroom where programmes could be found using the logged in accounts (not sure if they belonged to previous tenants or provided by the apartment though).

Great location. Lovely building and decor in the apartment was good. Clean and comfortable. There was a drain smell in the bathroom. The blinds let in a lot of light in the morning. No hairdryer.

Location is good, car parking is nice, kitchen is working. Dishes are dirty. Stairs beside the bedroom is full of dust. Wifi password is not working and the reception is unreachable. The messages are not being responded.

We liked the spacious lounge dining area and the apartments position. It clean and nice and quiet. There was a strong smell of drains in one of the on-suite bathrooms, so much so that we had to keep extractor fan going constantly. But even then we could still smell it. And we didn’t like the bags of laundry piled up in the reception hall for a few days.

This is a nice, spacious apartment very well located a short walk to the peninsula where there are lots of restaurants, the cathedral, etc. It is well stocked. The beds are reasonably comfy. I would definitely recommend it as long as you don't need any help from the completely unresponsive property managers. I was very disappointed with the customer service. Instructions were provide to log into the wifi, however they didn't work. When I contacted the managers, the only response I received was the same instructions I was originally sent. I replied back that those instructions didn't work, I asked for help and provided my phone number for them to call. I never heard back. We had to use our cell phone internet for the two days we were in the apartment. I have never had a location manager completely ignore me before.

It was very well appointed, we didn't use the kitchen facilities but it was perfect if you wanted them. Locality to the town All those stairs....but that was due to my age not a negative of the property. A shower would be better in the bathroom instead of a bath, there was a shower head but you couldn't stand up in the bath due to the low roof

The rooms were fine. . Great to have a car park. Handy to the city. The floor and carpets need a good clean. Feet and socks got dirty walking around. The main bedroom en-suite had an awful drain smell. Not sure if it’s the property fault or the drains. Pillows a bit soft for us, but that’s just a personal thing . Kitchen utilities a wee bit scarce.

Couple of minutes stroll to Old Elvet bridge and the entrance to the town square, plenty of restaurants and pubs nearby . Everything seems to be in walking distance including the National Trust property. Would have liked a bedside lamp, a slip mat for the shower and a chopping board in the kitchen. Great location and parking. The guide referred to a nest to operate the heating but nowhere to be found in the apartment, it also stated a qr code for the wifi but this was also missing. The heating was an older style thermostat. Had to ring the out of hours number to solve this.No hairdryer, no dishcloths, only mirror was in the bathroom. Nowhere in the bedroom to do hair and makeup.

Location was excellent and the apartment was very clean and comfortable. My bedroom got lot of sun. No elevator. Atleast a carriage elevator or some help can be provided. Bathroom is very small.

Beds poor quality. No window or ventilation in either bedroom. Bigger bedroom smelt damp, so did the shower room. Fans in showers and toilets not effective enough to ventilate properly.

An incredibly convenient location for Durham City Centre. Easy access and great apartment. Excellent communications from host who provided clear instructions in advance and was accessible and helpful throughout our stay. Couldn’t ask for more.

Great location, comfortable bed and well-equipped kitchen. It would have been useful to have luggage racks in the bedrooms and scissors in the kitchen.

The Television signal was patchy which was a little annoying but is probably just some loose connections.

Good size and excellent location with free parking It needs a little bit of tlc and some simple things such as hooks for coats or a coat stand, a few smaller pots and pans and we didn’t have a tea towel but overall the place is good and beds are very comfortable.

The Fordham, at 52 Old Elvet is spacious, very comfortable, well kitted out and in a perfect location for exploring the city. The hosts were in constant communication offering help and advice if needed.

Decor and living space fantastic in a beautiful old building. Location superb. Host very responsive If you want to self cater, there is a full, quality kitchen. Tea, coffee, milk, sugar and oj for guests. A coffee machine would be nice Not host's fault, but early construction works on street and general street noise during the night on the side street, impacted one bedroom in particular. Advised host's of work and he attended on site next morning.

A great location, step out and across the bridge and you are in the town with restaurants, etc within minutes. The apartment was very clean and the furnishings were well-appointed. Overall, we had a very comfortable stay. The second bedroom could have had a few more hangers. 5 for 2 people isn't enough. It would have been helpful if there was a mirror in it for dressing, hair, and makeup for the ladies. All of which the 1st bedroom had. A bit niggly but, just a few kitchen things would have been helpful as well, ie: salt & pepper, etc.

Excellent location, seems to be recently renovated, great amenities (toiletries etc). A really great place to stay in Durham for a group of 4. We didn’t use parking but that also looked very convenient especially in central Durham. Comfy beds. Nothing! We will definitely be back.

Very convenient for the main part of town Perhaps a window to open, velux was too high to reach. We did appreciate that it was an old high building but needed something to be able to open them with.

We have stayed in Durham many times but usually in a hotel, the experience at number 52 was such that we will stay again definitely. It was wonderful Nothing

Excellent central location. Free parking. Thin partition walls. Very noisy neighbours partying who we had to talk to at 2:30 in the morning!!

Excellently located property in the centre of Durham, close to bars and restaurants. The apartment was very spacious, clean and well equipped. The check in process was very easy and the host was very communicative. Nothing other than there was some late night noise from other residents of the upstairs apartments.

The location was great, beds were comfortable, it was clean, easy to access and the little extras (tea, milk and biscuits) were lovely. You had to go downstairs to the bathroom in the night. During the day there was loud music coming from upstairs.

The property was very central, only a 5 minute walk into the city and 10 minutes to the cathedral and castle. It was clean, had a well stocked kitchen and both double rooms were a good size. Instructions on how to access the property were good and the owners checked in via message to ensure we were enjoying our stay. The only minor complaint we had was we didn’t have on site parking for half of our stay as the small car park was full. We paid for on street parking outside which wasn’t an issue as there were plenty of spaces but a minor disappointment as the property was advertised with parking included. This didn’t detract from our stay.

Location can’t be beat and Andy was extremely responsive and helpful. For example, when I asked for some more rubbish bags they arrived within 5 minutes. Highly recommended and will certainly be staying again on our next visit to Durham.

Would've been a nice bonus to have at least one dishwasher tablet/ few biscuits/ something more than 2 teabags provided -it felt slightly mean for the price to provide so little in terms of kitchen amenities

Location absolutely perfect car parking immediately behind the apartment. Hosts great, lots of communication beforehand and during visit. We would definitely book again. Needs a handle and latch on bathroom door in smaller bedroom.

Very spacious. Very well equipped. Spotless. Modern. Great WiFi. Great thermostat for heating. A home away from home. Great location close to tourist areas and eateries. Close to Uni. All questions answered promptly. Steep stairs. Not for the unfit or infirm or heavy bags. Was allotted attic flat(penthouse) so had to mind my head on a couple of occasions.

Vintage entrance, modern interior. Lots of space, high ceiling. Ground floor helped with heavy luggage. Car park ? Cheap wardrobes not in keeping with quality property.

Was surprised there was no toilet in one of the en-suite bedrooms, but it was just outside that bedroom so it wasn’t the end of the world.

We stayed in the Wolsey appartement at 52 Old Elvet. This is a really nice property right in the centre of Durham but still very easy to drive to. Only a couple minutes walk and you`re in the middle of all the shops bars and restaurants which is exactly what we wanted. The property was very clean, comfortable and modern with just about every appliance that you might need and free parking right outside. We were 2 couples so the price between 4 of us worked out really good. The proprietors were easy to contact, really helpful and provided all the information that you would need to know about the property. If I had to nit pick it would be that the 4 of us had to share the one bathroom and only 2 toilet rolls were provided for a 2 night stay and, although there was 4 bath towels, there was no hand towels or hand wash in the bathroom, or coat hangers in the wardrobes, which we thought a little odd, especially as it was the one time when we went away and didn`t bother to take our own. Also, there are no coat hooks anywhere to hang coats. In both bedrooms head room is limited above one side of the bed due to the sloping ceilings which I suppose could be a problem for people with limited dexterity but at 62 and 6 ` I had no problem climbing in and out. There is only a limited number of parking spaces and I`m not sure if everyone could get one - we arrived early so had no problem but I did notice at times a car would be parked where there wasn`t really a space and blocking others in. None of this though was any real problem or negatively impacted our stay just something to be aware of in future.

The location was excellent, within easy walking distance to shops and restaurants in Durham. Also convenient to the University and Cathedral. We didn't have to drive to see the local sights we wanted to see. Parking was a bit tight. While there are spaces for all 5 units, getting in and out required some maneuvering. On the day we were leaving, someone parked behind another car and made it very difficult to get out of our space.

The apartment seems to have been recently renovated, is well equipped with good quality appliances. We appreciated the small touches - milk in the fridge etc. and the hosts were responsive and excellent. And of course the location is superb. it didn’t bother us, but there although there is a sky light, there is no window in the bedroom.

Well equipped apartment. Very clean. Modern decor. Nice to have tea, coffee, orange juice, milk and shortbread provided. The stairs! We were in the penthouse apartment so there were many stairs and several trips required with luggage when checking in or out. We would stay in the building again but we would look to rent a room on a lower floor.

We arrived for the Durham Miner's Gala Perfect location It is a truly amazing house and our accommodation was faultless. Staff incredibly helpful without being intrusive at all. We are looking to book again and again.

There was so much history to this place but brought into modern day, luxury living, it was wonderful! One thing - wish we had stayed longer!

Excellent location. Good communication with property owners. The Egerton apartment was a lovely place in which to spend a few days in Durham . Sitting room / kitchen area a wee bit small for 4 adults. Locating TV on the wall and having a smaller or folding dining table would have allow a bit more space.

Great position in the heart of Durham. Close to all the attractions and restaurants. Good facilities and comfortable beds . Clean and has all the kitchen stock you would need for your stay . Milk an Orange Juice in the fridge when we arrived! T.V reception was awful but I’m sure our host would have sorted it for us if we asked. We were not in much so not a big issue.

Absolutely beautiful apartment, with everything you need. Milk orange juice and shortbread were a lovely touch. Apartment we were to have had unfortunately sustained some water damage overnight. While travelling down to Durham, Dan had sent emails explaining and offered us another apartment, which was lovely. Private carpark to rear of building was great. Met Andy on the morning of our departure, who said we could leave the car as long as we wanted as we wanted another look around beautiful Durham before we left, which was so nice of him. Check out was at 10 am, but Andy said we could stay longer as asked the cleaners to leave our apartment to the end to clean so after a walk round Durham, some breakfast we came back just to check everything was packed away and use the toilet before leaving. Absolutely amazing place, and I definitely would recommend and stay again. There is nothing to not like. The apartment was spacious, and central to the town.

Fabulous location, easy access to the tow paths for walks and also the city centre and colleges. Bathrooms and shower very good. It would have been a bonus to have had washing up liquid , tea towel and oven gloves but that's really just nitpicking

The location is convenient. The building is elegant and historic but modern inside with good facilities and very secure. Our flat was well equipped and clean. It was nice to have milk and juice in the fridge when we arrives. Dan and Andy were helpful and accommodating.

Great location Good quality apartment Homely Has two EV charge points just outside the flat (7.5KW) I stayed in the Talbot Penthouse. It was a hot weekend when we stayed there and because of being a penthouse it was uncomfortably hot in the apartment. The owner did provide fans on request but even with the blinds down and windows open it was hard to get the temperature down. Clearly this is not a regular issue in UK. Given how expensive this flat is I would expect it to have air con. Although the site has parking there is not enough for the whole building. We were lucky the first night but unlucky the second. This would not be a good flat if you struggle with stairs. Lovely if you are ok with stairs.

Clean, helpful, good location

This was an absolutely perfect stay with family for the Durham Miners Gala. The apartments are beautiful, very well equipped, clean and comfortable. We saw the staff at the beginning and end of the stay and they couldn't have been more helpful and accommodating. The location is perfect! We had small children in the party so had worried that the crowds may be too much but they had a perfect view of the parade from the apartment windows and then the family was able to walk down to the field when the bands had all gone through. On a normal day, the apartments offer beautiful views of the city. There is a very short walk to the city centre shops, the riverside, the castle and pubs, restaurants and bars. However, even on Gala weekend, we found it very peaceful in the evening There is nothing I could possibly fault

Everything about this property is exceptional - starting with the communication - brilliant engaged hosts - snacking welcome pack at the property which is beautifully finished - clean, so well equipped and a really comfortable bed - beautiful bathroom - I could go on and on! Andy popped in to say hi and let us know he was on hand if we needed anything. All the parking discus were occupied (graduation week = very busy) but as my husband came back from paying for parking offsite, he bumped into Andy who said they would reimburse and followed that up with an email to confirm. Cannot recommend 52 Old Elvet highly enough - we will definitely stay again next time we are in Durham Nothing

Tinha mesa de jantar grande e cozinha aparelhada. O hall de entrada é amplo e as escadas para os andares muito largas e arejadas. havia até um sofa cama que nós nao precisamos usar. foi excelente!!!! o estacionamento tem vagas não muito amigáveis para carros grandes.

Beautifully renovated building with top rate appliances and finish. Great location for city centre. Very roomy apartment. Owners were very obliging and kept in constant contact. Old building with single glazed windows on a main student thoroughfare made for a noisy combination. No curtains in bedroom meant a very bright room at this time of year.

Unbeatable location & the most helpful & welcoming host Pungent smell of the drains, it was quite dusty, very small bathroom

I did have some issues activating the keypad and had to reach out to the host who promptly responded. Once I got the hang of it there were no issues. The accommodations were GORGEOUS and were in the BEST spot. There was so much to walk to including stores, bars, restaurants, and row boats that you row yourself! While the write up states full/queen beds in the rooms, they are truly two twin beds close together. Not an issue for me but could be for some. The headboard of the bed in one of the rooms is right under/in front of the windows making it very tricky to open the shutters and the actual window. BUT this would not prevent me for recommending this spot OR from staying again.

The location was excellent, just a short walk over the bridge to the shops, bars and restaurants. The Kirkham apartment was modern yet in a traditional setting. All catering conveniences were there, and there was milk and orange juice in the fridge which was a nice touch. We didn't eat there , just made tea and coffee in the morning. The toilet and shower room is modern and clean. The shower was great, one of those rainfall type ones. The entrance way and the staircase are very grand and beautiful. When it came to leaving on the Thursday, we asked if we could keep our luggage in the apartment until it was time for the train. This wasn't a problem and we're grateful to Andy for letting us do that. Leaving.

We had a delightful stay at 52 Elevet Road for 2 nights while visiting Durham and preparing for my next year at Durham University. The facilities surpassed our expectations, with a well-equipped and tastefully decorated kitchen. The rooms were spacious, and we were thrilled to find both a shower and a bath in the apartment The location of the apartment was truly exceptional and added immense value to our experience. It allowed us to explore the entire town conveniently, with an array of fantastic restaurants and cafes just a 5-minute walk away. I highly recommend checking out Flat White, Tango Durham, and Wafflley for some amazing culinary delights. Additionally, being in close proximity to the Bill Bryson Library, Student Union, and other Durham University buildings was a definite advantage. I must give special recognition to Andy Turns, who went above and beyond during our stay. Not only did he take care of all our apartment-related needs, but he also helped us find a moving company at incredibly short notice and at an unbelievable price. Our previous moving company had let us down by being unable to store our mattress for the month, but Andy came to the rescue. His exceptional assistance made our transition much smoother and stress-free. In summary, I wholeheartedly rate our experience at 52 Elevet Road with 5 out of 5 stars. It was an absolute pleasure, and I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a comfortable, well-situated, and impeccable accommodation in Durham.

The location was great, 5 mins walk into town. Nothing it was great, highly recommended.

The location, the big airy living room, well equipped kitchen The windowless bedrooms were claustraphobic - there was no way of getting any fresh air in to the bedroom and the bad smell from the drains in the ensuite bathroom was awful. It would have been alright if there were windows to open. An espresso maker and coffee pods would have been nicer than the remains of a jar of instant coffee

Excellent location, close to places of interest and eateries. The apartment has service personnel in the morning so you can ask for help if needed. Otherwise, host was responsive when you send messages. Strong sewage smell from the bathroom, so keep the ventilator on all the time. Took us time to figure out how to use the Google Nest to control temperature.

it was beautifully appointed. Everything you need. High quality, very comfortable would have loved a waste paper basket in the bedroom! other than that this apartment needs nothing more!

Great location; very walkable to everything; off street parking, comfy and spacious bed, great layout and accommodation. The kitchen had all needed appliances. Good reading lamps on bedside tables. Loved the "old" feel with the new.

This is an exceeds your expectations kind of property. We stayed at the Kirkham which was a two bedroom apartment. As you walk into the main door you can see it is very clean and very modern. I liked that there were no keys to mess around with, the main door and the door to the apartment are on codes. The hosts kept in constant contact with us via the booking app just in case we needed anything. The beds are very comfy and the shower is very powerful. Good strong wifi and netflix is available on the tv. The building has 5 parking spots at the rear however, we were not able to find a spot there so we ended up parking on the main road outside the building. After 6pm is it free. I parked up on Saturday at 4pm and paid for only 2 hours but parked till Monday as Sunday and Bank Holidays are free all day. The apartments are very close to the shops, restaurants, boats, Cathedral and Castle. Everything is walking distance. I need to reiterate that the decor and cleanliness are on point in this building.

Excellent location, newly refurbished and elegant flat. The management was extremely friendly and helpful. The shower room was a bit small, especially when considering that the flat is for 4 people. The beds were not very comfortable.

Loved everything about this apartment. We were a group of three sisters on a short break. Warmly welcomed by the host on arrival who advised on a couple of restaurants. Beautiful spacious and modern apartment with all required amenities. Superb location just a few steps away from the town centre. Keypad access, so no worries about losing keys. great location and good communication with owner. no enough seats for 4 and the sofa was so uncomfortable. Beds really low and pillows too flat. shower in en-suite was blocked as the base was filling up with water.

The stay was spot on. The accommodation was in an ideal location, only a stones throw from the city centre. The private parking was perfect. and the bonus having an electric vehicle were 2 charge points directly opposite on the street (at an average cost). The access was made really easy via the pin entry. The flat was very spacious and plenty of room for the 4 adults that stayed. All facilities that you'd probably need for a short trip. My only small negative was the toilet paper, for the price of the room, it was as thin as can be. That said, if that's the only criticism then it's pretty impressive!!

Alles was man braucht ist super zu Fuß erreichbar Supermarkt etc. Und Durham ist eine wunderschöne Studentenstadt. Verhungern oder verdursten tut man hier nicht ???????? Die Matratzen könnten einmal ausgetauscht werden ? Aber da Aust Jammern auf hohem Niveau.

Our third visit to 52 Old Elvet. Fantastic location in the centre of Durham. So convenient to be able to walk to the town and to have a free parking space on site. Beautiful modrn apartment which is very well equipped, maintained and comfortable. Great communication once booked, during and after. Highly recommend. No negatives!

A nice touch to have milk, shortbread, coffee and tea waiting for us. The location is very close to the main attractions, we were able to walk directly to all the places we wanted to see. Comfortable rooms with everything we needed in the kitchen. Hosts were friendly and happy to accommodate an earlier bag drop off and late bag pick up. Nothing really.

Ideally placed with parking in city centre, compact apartment with everything we needed and 2 bed 2 bathrooms suited us well. Our request for one room to be made up as twins was sorted in advance and staff could not have been nicer! TV reception was a bit dodgy

Very comfortable and stylish accommodation in a central location. The shutters on the windows enhance the gorgeous city views. Its so close to perfect but an extra tea towel and some beer glasses would be useful! Little things I know.

Fantastic location just minutes from all the main attractions. The flats are amazing, really unique and sympathetically converted with excellent fittings but retaining the historic character. We got a really warm welcome from Andy and Dan who offered us an alternative flat as there were works going on outside the one we had booked. Andy is also a mine of information for the best places to eat and drink. Would stay here again in a heart beat. Could do with a couple of little bins in the bathrooms.

Absolutely fabulous all round. Great communication, gorgeous apartments and wonderful location. Even let us leave our bags after checkout time so we didn't have to schlep them around before getting the train. Would highly recommend:)

Very good location. Close to city centre and train station. It was on the top floor of a building which doesn't have a lift. It was quite difficult for us to carry the luggage to the apartment.

Beds didn't have mattress protectors nor fitted sheets.

Location was good. Very noisy street well into the night and we happened to be there during warm, humid weather and the apartment was uncomfortably warm and stuffy.

Excellent very central location with parking. Bright and spacious accommodation. Comfortable living area. Staff were very helpful and were able to be in hand when we had a query. When we first arrived there was a lack of several kitchen items including glasses however this was quickly resolved.

The location was perfect and the hosts were so helpful and friendly. There was plenty of space for three of us and a well equipped kitchen. The hosts were really helpful about bringing in extra crockery when needed.

Excellent location with great facilities. Cleanliness was outstanding! Although there was a dishwasher there was no washing up liquid for the odd plate and cup. Would have appreciated a range of different glasses.

The overall building is beautiful and a real part of Durhams history. It has been restored and converted beautifully with quality fittings and work. It was immaculately clean when we arrived. The location is excellent, it was quiet and comfortable with plenty of space for us as a family of four with 2 teenagers. We had a wedding at St Cuthbert's church which was 1 minutes walk away and then a reception at the castle which was a few minutes walk. There are loads of restaurants on the doorstep so couldn't be easier. The kitchen was well fitted with all we needed for a weekend stay and we appreciated the bits and pieces left for our arrival. The owners were super helpful and quick to respond. Check was easy with door codes. nothing

Nice comfortable accomodation, good equipment and clean. Appartment house is near the historical downtown. There is a parking behind the house. Communication with landlor was excellent. Our staying in this appartment and in Durham we enjoyed very well. One bigger pot missed in the kitchen.

Super location close to town and nice walks along the river. No real complaints, however it would have been easier to get into the shower if the door had opened the other way, but really just nitpicking.

The location was great. Very central. Loved the character. Very helpful and friendly owners. Extra towels appreciated.Also parking space included. Very minor but it would have been helpful to have hooks on the back of the door and in the hall to hang coats. There also weren’t quite enough glasses and spoons! It would also have been helpful to have a soap dispenser in the bathroom and kitchen. The mirrors in the bedrooms and hall were hung in slightly strange locations and heights, which made them a bit difficult to use.

No keys, door code entry. Owner was very quick to communicate how to gain entry with clear & concise explanation. Owner also repeated instructions on run up to stay, very effective in reassuring and educating me. Loved it. Weird dripping outside at night. All guests could hear it, very confusing, we all thought we’d left a tap on. We didn’t. Still don’t know what it was but not from within Egerton apartment.

Really lovely apartment. Very clean and everything there we would need for our stay. Very comfortable accommodation, great location close to town. Host maintained excellent contact throughout. Will be coming back to Durham so will be booking 52 Old Elvet again. Perfect! Nothing negative to say, really very pleased with the accommodation.
