The location, private court with secure gated access, and the layout of the property was very good, close to local amenities with an allocated parking space and secure enclosed courtyard. The overall cleanliness and attention to detail was poor. We had to defrost the fridge/freezer before we could shut the door on it. There were remnants of food left on the oven shelf. There was dust and cobwebs throughout the property, and although the floors may have been vacuumed they certainly hadn't been moped. Could not get terrestrial TV channels, the only available channels were subscription ones via the internet. The general waste bin in the garden hadn't been emptied and was full to overflowing, we asked a neighbour when the collection date was, as we would have put it out on the day, but it was the week after our stay. Both raised flower beds had weeds and nettles, which we took care of. On contacting the host their response was positive but these issues should have been addressed before the property was re-let. As with previous reviews the lack of some crockery items in the kitchen, and side tables and mirrors in the bedrooms. We both felt that it would be worth the premium rental price if the standard was raised.
Ideal location and private gated parking. The property itself was very unclean. We couldn’t close the freezer door as it was so iced up and every mug in the cupboard had been put away used and dirty. Every surface was full of dust and there were cobwebs everywhere. Marks on the walls and what looked like blood on the living room radiator. The bathroom had black mould above the skirting boards and the shower head was disgusting, it should be replaced it’s so bad! We couldn’t use the outside bins as they were overflowing with rubbish when we arrived and the kitchen bin had a clean bin liner in it but the bin itself was filthy and smelled so bad we had to keep it outside. Whoever cleans this property either didn’t turn up before our arrival or has no idea what the word clean actually means. On a positive note, the location is great. 2 local pubs with friendly staff and a co-op just round the corner. Close to Filey, Brid and Scarborough too.
