Upon arriving and entering the cottage the smell was terrible; very musty and it quickly became apparent it hadn’t been thoroughly cleaned in sometime. We had to open the windows and basically give the cottage a good clean. The decor is most definitely an acquired taste and to be honest is very oppressive and dour for a little cottage, including the angels above the fireplace which are downright freaky. The shower made a horrendous noise when used and ended up breaking down, not before I narrowly missed being badly scalded.
However the response to addressing this was swift, but sadly proved not possible to rectify during our stay and the shower deemed unsafe to use.
To be honest this cottage needs withdrawing from rental and sorting out properly. The garden was awful and overgrown with weeds. Two positives were the very comfortable settee and bed, although a dirty bedsheet left in the bedroom drawer is not a good look.
Please sort this cottage out as it could be really beautiful.

Nice home, spotless clean, perfectly matching description.
A bit cold and old thermostat doesn't allow to set temperatures, but overall a nice stay, and management is very responsive.

Size of the house and the wood burner were great.

The smell on entering the property was horrible it smelt very musty!
When we went upstairs to the bedroom the sheets had not been changed. Filthy sheets that we could not sleep in.
We found some spare sheets in the draws but they had been there a while and smelt very musty. When we fitted the sheets they were too small. See attached photos of what to expect!

Location was great and a good sized property. Nice to have a wee back garden too. Bed was very comfortable.

Woodburner not working/in good condition and no sign or mention not to use it. Could have ended very badly. Property very nice but not finished to a very good standard with parts of furniture broken, kitchen smelling of paint, joins to floors not secured down and lots of cables on show. No major issues minus the burner but small things that could be improved. Quite a lots of dust under sofa and chest of drawers in living room that I saw when fetching my dogs ball.

Unfortunately this property was not quite ready for guests having apparently been empty for a while. The location and space are good, however rear outside space needs a tidy up and ultimately the lack of hot water ended our stay early. Good communication with company and owner did try to rectify this during our stay, however this proved unsuccessful. With some improvements, this property should make a lovely stay. Please note, at time of stay the wood burner was currently not connected and decorative only.
