Comfortable, homely and peaceful. Well furnished. Shops and rail and bus services nearby, with easy access to Saltburn. It’s a longer walk to the beach than I’d wish for, but once on the cliffs it’s delightful. I slept well !

The Vermont is perfect for us. It's a great location and a great place to stay. We settled in straight away and it's so cosy. My only complain was when we get in the house it was so cold just like outside. The thermostat was set on 10'c. I was tired after a long day travel, my 5 months old grandson needs to change nappy etc. so it was a moment of disappointment. But it warms up very quickly after turning it up. I surely would come back to stay here again if it's available at the time we visit.

The house was clean, tidy, well equipped and in a very quiet location but still within a short walk of all the village amenities and seafront. Would definately recommend and stay there again when in the area. Thankyou for a lovely stay.

Loved our stay everything was as we`ve come to expect.

The back garden was absolutely sodden due to heavy rain making letting dog out very difficult perhaps a small fence to cordon of lawn area or some other barrier would be good during winter time.

Cleanliness could have been better. There was debris in hallway dried on food on dining counter. Could use a bathmat in the bath as taking a shower was a bit slippy.

Loved our stay at the Vermont and it was just perfect for our short stay. It was very clean and comfortable with everything we needed. The little extra touches of providing tea, coffee, washing up liquid, toiletries were appreciated. If we’re ever in Marske by the Sea in the future I would definitely book the accommodation again. Thank you.

Beautiful little house. Perfect for us (family of four - 15 year old, a 13 year old and two cavapoos )
It was absolutely pristine and host and stay think of absolutely everything. Even labelling the bins for recycling. A muddy boot tray. Maps and recommendations on the wall. A lovely little garden too….Absolutely fantastic.
The location was great ….quiet and peaceful. 5 minute walk into town…we ate at the Thai restaurant (A taste of Thai) which was nice. Craig’s cafe gorgeous breakfast. The mermaid stone house which was ok - I think the carvery would be the best option there. The lockdown micro bar is great too.
10 minute walk to the beautiful beach
We walked along the beach to Saltburn (2 miles).
We wouldn’t hesitate to stay here again and I would definitely use Host and Stay - brilliant company!

Third time staying here, the home truly is a home from home. Super comfortable, spacious, all the amenities with a superb garden to the rear of the property. The area is outstanding, from the beautiful quiet beaches of Marske to the quaint town of Saltburn by the Sea. Can't wait to visit again ?

Location in ratio to beach (is within walking distance), facilities in the accommodation, private garden, space inside (tardis) and local amenities...honestly I would recommend this place to anyone and I'd definitely go back.

The cleanliness!! Now, when you read the breakdown there is £60 for cleaning. Fab, I have a cleaner and pay that for a bigger house, but mine is clean. You certainly need to randomly check your cleaners. Wasn't enough to put me off as my daughter and I set about the bits that really mattered to us. But random spot checks from management is a must.

We were jet lagged when arriving from Australia and when I open the master bathroom I was in heaven.A beautiful bath to relax. The accomodation was just lovely. It was a visit to see family after 29 years and our family who visited will look to stay here for their holiday

We thoroughly enjoyed out stay. The house was spotlessly clean and beautifully furnished. The enclosed garden was an added bonus for our dog and would be enjoyable I'm sure in warmer weather. Having a private drive was also an added bonus. The local beach was pleasant along with local facilities. An ideal place for exploring places like Guisborough, Saltburn, Whitby and Staithes.

Didn't like the hidden £10 non refundable admin charge for the management company and the withdrawal of £250 from our account to cover the damage deposit. We were aware of this bond but didn't expect the admin charge, withdrawal of £250 and the extra emails about the procedures. Thought this could have all been included in the advertised costs with Booking.Com and the bond withdrawal held back unless there was damage.

The property was a lot nicer in person than appears in the photos. It’s cosy and homely and the hosts provided everything we needed for our stay, including things like tin foil and kitchen roll. The garden was enclosed which made it suitable for our dog.
The house is situated close to the high street and a short 4min walk to the beach. The area is so quiet and peaceful.

Sehr gute Einrichtung.

The property was well equipped with everything you could need for a short stay. The place was spotless and beds were great. Saltburn is a must visit town nearby with beautiful cafes and restaurants.

ATMs in the town were either out of order or difficult to find (not the property’s problem of course) Took 5 or 6 stops to get a working one.

The house was beautiful and clean, very modern looking and decorated nicely. The beach is just a 10 minute walk away, and is a lovely place for a walk or splash in the sea with your dog! We found the house had everything we needed, the garden is lovely and secluded and a proper sun trap! We can't wait to book our next stay!

I have no idea what this house looked like before its redesign, but the redesign was wonderful. Each of the two bedrooms had its own ensuite and there was a living-area toilet downstairs. The workmanship of the completed refurbishment looked to me to be excellent. The living/dining area was perfect for our (3 of us) needs. There is a yard area where one can eat outside. There is room for one car to park off-street.

The downstairs toilet would benefit from having a towel in it.
For overseas visitors, such as we were, not having access to internet unless attached to Wifi, it was inconvenient not to have the actual address of the place in one of the "Host and Stay" transmissions. We got the lockbox code in one of them but no address - which seemed odd since they are linked.

The location was brilliant, close to shops, cafes and the beach. garden was perfect for the dog and the facilities within the house were great, had everything you could ever need. The Beds were also lovely and comfortable.

The property was lovely and clean there were just a few bits that required a little more attention to detail such as dusty table tops and some areas of dusty carpets mainly around the edges. The grass also needed cutting Apart from that the house was very clean and tidy and this wouldn’t stop us from returning.

The property is lovely, very clean with good quality furniture, crockery etc. Very homely too. I would like to suggest a mirror close to a plug point in the bedroom to dry hair, and possibly a towel rail for damp towels as I had to hang over the bedroom door to dry. There was a football match while we were at the property, and kids kept kicking their ball over into the garden. There's not much the owners can do about this, but if anyone is staying with a dog that may bite a stranger, perhaps some warning would be welcome that this may happen on a match day. Overall, the property is lovely and we will definitely be back.

Where to begin with this one ?

We booked annual leave to stay near the seaside in Marske. We were so excited and due to meet my parents. It was our rescue dog’s first trip to the beach. We made the most of it on the first day before check in - Marske and Saltburn are very beautiful. The location is pretty average - in the middle of a scruffy looking estate but near to the pretty coast.

However…… we turn up to check in and the lights are on in the property. Peep through the window and there’s a nice lady with her feet up and her little dog watching a film……… surprised to see us…. As she has the property booked for the rest of the week. ?? the poor lady was very confused and admittedly so was I.

So I ring Host & Stay to ask what’s going on and I’m told ‘the calendar must have broken’ so they’re double booked. At my insistence, Host & Stay then looked for us somewhere else to stay, but couldn’t find anywhere suitable. I asked for a refund and they advised in 5 working days I can have the cost of the stay refunded. I asked for my fuel refunded too as I have travelled a long way, and they would like to see fuel receipts and evidence of travel, emailed to them so they can ‘review it’ and decide if this is something they can offer.

Well, Host & Stay, review this for me: myself, my partner, and both of my parents have take annual leave for this trip, and arrived at a property 90 miles from home, only to find we’ve nowhere to stay.

A full refund for the cost of the stay and the mileage for both parties attending is the very least I feel the company can do. Whether this will be completed remains to be seen. It is alarming that a company which is entirely concerned with booking out properties fails to do just that….. hopefully the finance team will be more competent than everyone at Host & Stay I’ve spoken with today but somehow I’m not confident.

Thanks to the members of staff I did speak to who left me and my family outside an occupied holiday rental, and refused to support us any further. I can’t thank you personally as you refused to give me your names.

Host&Stay have then tried to blame Airbnb for the error - this couldn’t be an error with Airbnb as they can only advertise what hosts report is available. I don’t like to be lied to, I find it very disrespectful and rude. I don’t like to be fobbed off, which is how I’ve felt throughout….. and I really don’t like writing rubbish reviews - I always try to see the positives but with the astonishingly poor customer service all round, I would advise everyone to steer clear of this property AND Host&Stay as a company.

Yikes…
