Hall Garth was a great place to stay for a family hols. It’s a spacious, warm and comfortable house, with large well equipped kitchen. Beds were super comfy too. It was a bit too cold/wet to use the garden but would be great in the right season! The house location is fab - literally a very short walk from Pickering’s historic town centre, castle, church, steam railway and many shops! Although it doesn’t have dedicated parking spaces, we managed to get a spot right outside the house most of the time. I’d be very happy to stay again!

Perfect location for Pickering centre, plus York, Moors & Yorkshire coast, ideal location to explore from.<br/>Home was very welcoming and cosy, a perfect place to explore from. All amenities were good quality and very clean. Exceptionally well equipped kitchen. Lots of information left about the house and things to do, very helpful. A home away from home, loved it. Parking was only once not available within the road, but surrounding roads have plenty of other options, so wasn’t a problem.

A lovely few days away for the NYMR steam gala, ideal location and great walking distance. A nice little cottage with great history and a cosy atmosphere.

This is wonderful old home, which is somewhat quirky, but that is part of its charm. Outstanding location. We will certainly return. Only notes are that while there are free parking spots on the street, even in off season, it is exceedingly rare to find one available for more than a few minutes. However, there is a pay and display car park about a block away. Other note is that it took us awhile to figure out that the 'caretakers' are essentially the 'hosts' and they are excellent in our experience. From what we can tell, Host & Stay is just a company and when communicating with them it seems you are dealing with an employee in some unknown location. But once having that sorted out it went perfectly.

Peace, space and easy access to town and railway. High quality furnishings throughout. Beautifully fitted bathrooms. House was very clean.Pleasant garden with table for outdoor dining.<br/><br/>Awkward arrangement of oven in fitted kitchen compromised seating arrangement at table. Inconsistent and confused communication from management company Host and Stay from the time of booking.

Location was absolutely superb, in a quiet part of town, just off the main street through Pickering and close to everything you need on a break. The character of the house really made a difference to the stay and adds a dimension to a holiday in my opinion.<br/><br/>The floorboards upstairs were particularly noisy and could do with repair or replacement.

Stayed at Hall Garth in Pickering with the family, including 4 children. The house was easy to find and get into. It was immaculate inside and much bigger than we had thought. The kitchen was equipped with everything you needed and we appreciated towels being left for us to use. The children loved the cupboard of toys! The property is on a quiet street in centre of town and we loved being able to walk out the door to explore. We had no trouble getting parked each day either. We will definitely be staying here again!

The house is located in the town centre with easy access to shops and the railway station.<br/>The house can easily accommodate 6 people with bathrooms up and down.<br/>The kitchen is equipped with all you need for cooking.<br/>Parking is an issue <br/> There is a B and B next door so I think spaces get taken. We arrived the first day at 5pm and got a space<br/>We were very happy staying there and can recommend. The other days all spaces were gone as we got back after 6pm. We have a disabled parking badge so parked on the double yellow lines. Later in the evening a space came available so we moved the car then. It isn't a huge issue but just bear in mind you may have to park away from The house.<br/>Across the road is a church or community hall. There is activity going on, one night was a drumming session!!! But a activity was over by 9pm so not a problem

Beautiful old house in a great location to explore the lovely town of Pickering and beyond. Lots of space, very clean and as described in the photos. <br/>Quiet area with just the church bells and hooting of the steam train in the distance to listen to. <br/>Great to have the 2 sitting rooms, the wifi worked well and I just logged into Netflix, Prime and the IPlayer to the Firestick provided, although there is obviously normal TV as well. <br/>Parking was fine for the 1st half of the week but the street was full in the end (summer hols) and it was only that we have a blue badge that we parked on double yellows. Not sure where would have parked otherwise? Assume in quieter periods it would be fine. An excellent stay and well worth it.

We had a great stay at Hall Garth! The rooms were a nice size, clean and characterful. We felt right at home! Its located in walking distance to the main highstreet and restaurants/pub. The Host and Stay team were great, proactively sending all relevant and helpful information to help plan our trip. They had a great app/site with lots of helpful info!

Nice place, good location for the steam train and walking to restaurants, pubs etc. Lacked a few basics like bath mats and hand towels in the bathrooms and could do with some paint repairs but overall it was good. Parking was not a problem.

Charming property in Pickering. Steps from Pickering centre and ten minutes from Pickering castle and train station. Great property for a family vacation. Pickering is a convenient base for day trips to North York Moors and Yorkshire Dales National Parks and Whitby and Scarborough.
