There is also an additional seating area adjacent to this that guests can use to relax whilst admiring the stunning views surrounding the property. The two bedrooms at Winds Croft are ideal for guests to have a restful sleep at the end of each day. There is a bathroom at the property that guests can use to refresh themselves throughout their stay. Fitted with a shower, toilet and hand basin, guests will find everything they need to feel relaxed. There is also an outdoor dining area that guests can use if they are wanting to dine al-fresco. There is a shared garden, the top section of the garden is for the use of Winds Croft. There is also a stone padlocked outhouse for bike storage at the end of the garden.

Check-out: 10:00Keys to the property will be accessible via key safe. Access to the cottage is via a shared path alongside the Hill Memorial Hall on Malton Gate. The access is through 2 gates and is the second door after the second gate. There is On Street parking nearby with limited and unlimited areas. There is also a Public Car Park across the road, near the Lake which is Pay-and-Display but not overnight. Please note a king size sofa bed is available for additional guests.

The location was perfect, The village of Thornton le Dale is just gorgeous.. The cottage is lovely, very homely & comfortable & furnished to a high standard, garden area & patio ect are great Housekeeping was disgraceful, on arrival most of the kitchen had not been cleaned, the white sink & draining tray were filthy the tray had dead insects on it & slimy, the microwave had smears & fingerprints on the outside & the glass plate on the inside was filthy, the toaster still had breadcrumbs sitting on top of it & was dirty.. The toilet/shower room, The wash hand basin area was splatted with toothpaste & soap over the surrounding walls, the ledge above had soap smears & hair, the toilet looked like it had been cleaned with a floor cloth with hair & marks, there was no toilet roll but a roll of kitchen towel was left! The owner can’t be contacted there is no phone number or email, however I sent plenty photos & emails to Booking.com .. on our last day I was sent an email to say someone was coming to address the cleaning issues & would I leave a key but I didn’t see the email till later that evening ( I wouldn’t have left a key anyway ) so when we got back later we realised someone had been in the cottage when we were out, This made me really angry & uncomfortable & caused me great anxiety, I really just wanted to go home.. & on checking what the cleaner had actually done when we were out.. The inside glass plate in the microwave had been cleaned but not the smears on the door, the toaster was cleaned, the sink was cleaned but not the drainage tray on the bunker it was still slimy with dead insects.. The toilet was cleaned & they had attempted to clean the ledge but it was still dirty & the DNA was still splatted over the wash hand basin area!! Oh & she left a toilet roll.. This is a lovely cottage but the owner obviously isn’t checking on housekeeping & it’s a massive letdown!!. I wish I could upload photos.
We spent a week in the cottage. On arrival it was spotlessly clean. The cottage has been tastefully modernised, is well equipped and is within a few yards of the village’s shops, pubs and restaurants. It has a nice outdoor space and we enjoyed sitting in the dining area by the French doors with a coffee when we couldn’t sit out. Without a parking space, we were concerned about being able to park on the road, but this wasn’t really an issue, although sometimes we had to leave the car in the 1 hour parking and move it when a space became available, but there was always an overnight spot. The kitchen was well equipped and the king size bed was very comfortable. Great location for exploring the local area and a trip to the coast. We would happily stay at Wind’s Croft again.
