The Space
Lowmoor is full of unique creations in a beautiful setting. Spacious and comfortable, the accommodation has a mix of the really old, the really new, and the really interesting for you to love as much as its owners do. Filled with handcrafted furniture and decorated with original artworks, this is a beautiful space to spend time in.

The property was built in the 1820's as a Mill owner's house and has been sympathetically and creatively restored to retain all of its warmth and character. Well equipped to accommodate eight people in two living rooms with cosy fires, a lovely big kitchen, a playroom and four bedrooms, this house is a great space to both explore and relax.

Upon entering either living room, you’ll feel at home at once. The traditional, cottage-style sofas frame the rooms perfectly making them ideal places to enjoy quality time with friends and family. Original artwork adorns the walls and handmade wooden furniture adds an attractive contrast. Flat screen TVs sit in the spaces so you can catch up on your favourite shows after a long day of exploring Cumbria and the Lake District National Park.

The kitchen / dining area is light and airy. Modern appliances work perfectly with the countryside style and the house retains its charm with beautiful exposed beams and sash windows. The kitchen is fully equipped with a dishwasher, fridge, freezer, kettle, microwave, oven, hob, toaster and washing machine. Entertain friends at the impressively large Elm table which is accompanied with delightful traditional chairs.

All of the bedrooms are spacious and comfortable with interesting pieces of furniture and artwork. Every room has something different to offer and delight.
The comfortable beds at Lowmoor consist of a super-king, a standard king, a double and a twin. The super-king can be made up as a twin and the twin made up as a super-king on request.

The bathrooms are modern and bright. Both feature a bath and large walk in shower, along with a wash basin and WC.

Outside you’ll find the spacious garden. This lush green space is ideal for children to play and dogs to explore, and there are spectacular views looking towards Skiddaw and Catbells.

Fantastic stay! The photos don't really show the size of the place - loads of rooms inside to hang out in, bedrooms were all huge. Beds were super comfy and everything was really clean. A fun quirky old building with a lot of charm, and gorgeous views outside. We loved the games and books, and aside from bringing in our own food we didnt really need to think of anything else, it was all already there. Would really like to come back!

This was a family get together of three generations and it was perfect for us. There is plenty of space in the house and the stand out feature was the lovely kitchen with wonderful views and a large table for meals. The bathrooms are excellent and the bedrooms well appointed. We had our dogs with us and there is a dog safe garden behind the kitchen. It is close to the coast and a short trip to the northern lakes. We would certainly be happy to return.

Beautiful cottage with a large garden full of birds and sheep in the field over the fence. So peaceful and amazing views of the fells. The property is very comfortable and the interior is very thoughtfully and tastefully put together. So many gorgeous original features and quirky and stylish artworks in every room. Lots of books and games provided and cosy real fires with plenty of fuel provided. The only things to improve would be the very soft mattresses that were a little uncomfortable. It would have also been nice if basic essentials would have been provided like coffee, milk, although there were some earl grey tea bags in the caddy. Many similar properties I've stayed in have provided these. However, it was a wonderful place to stay, well located in a picturesque setting. We were very happy. Thank you

This is an adorable accommodation, in tranquil settings, with another smaller accommodation attached (not a distraction). The home presents as a livable space for eight (four double rooms) with options for using living space for more downstairs. There was only two of us, which was great. The Caretaker (lives in accommodation in the grounds) was a tremendous asset, helpful and friendly...! This location is surrounded by a small forest and hills, the views are superb. Ideal for touring cumbrian coast and the Lakes. We only stayed for three nights, would definitely come again and hopefully stay longer.

The stay was very nice and the cottage was neatly arranged even though it's a bit old. The location is peaceful and serene. Bathrooms and Kitchen were excellent. The door key to the back garden/open area was missing which was a bit of pain as it limited the access. Mobile signal was limited for our O2 and Vodafone numbers and wifi connectivity was very poor inside the cottage. Apart from these issues we really enjoyed the time.

This was the second time we visited Lowmoor and I loved it even more than first time. It’s the best place for retreat. Absolutely stunning property, spacious, airy, clean with fabulous bathrooms and well equipped kitchen. The kitchen table it to die for. We picked the property because it’s pet friendly so our 2 dogs enjoyed the garden so much. There is also a travel cot available so we didn’t have any hassle with bringing our own for our 10month old. I can’t wait to be back again!
