The nearby towns of Matlock, Ashbourne, Bakewell, and Buxton are also within reach, ensuring that visitors have a wealth of experiences to explore throughout their stay.
Getting Around
While public transport options in Brassington itself are limited due to its small size and rural location, there are still ways to access nearby towns and attractions. Although Brassington doesn’t have its own bus station, there are bus stops located around the village, and local services connect Brassington to nearby towns and villages. Bus routes from Brassington are often infrequent, but they provide access to Matlock, Wirksworth, and the wider area.
As Brassington is a small village, taxis are one of the more reliable ways to travel to and from the village, particularly if you're traveling with luggage or a group. There are several taxi services in the region that can be booked in advance or hailed locally, the more local companies include Matlock Taxis and Derbyshire Taxis.
Guests have access to the full property. The keys to the property are accessed via a secure key safe and full details will be provided shortly before your arrival date.

A wonderful little place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday strife

Great place for exploring the white peak; quieter than many more ‘touristy’ places but within easy distance if you want that vibe

Lovely house in an idyllic small hamlet (2 pubs, a school and a church). This was the perfect space for us as we were attending a family wedding nearby. Lovely and clean with everything you need for a short stay. There is no mobile signal at all in the village and the wifi is a bit patchy so be prepared for a digital detox. Also make sure you mark the location on google maps manually (corner of Greenway and Greenview) as you can be taken to the wrong address otherwise - not fun after a long drive!

The Barn was an absolutely wonderful base to explore the Peak District. The home had everything you needed to have a pleasant stay including some very comfy beds, perfect after those long walks! The hosts even left us a welcome basket with snacks, jam and prosecco which we felt was a lovely touch. Overall we really enjoyed our trip and would recommend The Barn to anyone looking to stay in the area. The dishwasher wasn't the best at cleaning the dishes and there wasn't a sponge provided to do the washing up. A very minor detail though and we managed just fine! Everything else was great.

A wonderful cottage with plenty of space, for all 6 guests and great spaces to cook, eat and create lasting memories. Perfectly located for people looking for plenty of walking trails within the immediate area - and never too far away from a pub. Beautiful scenery.

The Barn was a great base for our weekend in the Peaks. Allowed us great access to the National Park and some of the most beautiful walks. The house was spacious and the kitchen was well-equipped for self-catering, and the beds very comfortable.

The house was generally ok but we found a very dirty pan and what we believe was rat poo in one of the kitchen cupboards. I sent photos to Peak Staycations and they said they'd investigate but they didn't get back to me, even after I followed up. We tried to avoid opening the cupboard but it made us jittery. Even if it wasn't rat poo (it looked very like it and it was also weird that everything had been cleared out from where it was), there shouldn't be dirt in cupboards or dirty cookware.
